I was working late one evening, hunched over some paperwork at my workstation, when I heard someone calling my name.

“Rozy”

I looked up to find a colleague standing at the doorway. “Tak balik lagi?” (Not going home yet?)

I heaved a sigh. “Tak. Nak siapkan kerja ni sikit lagi. You dah nak balik dah?” (No, I want to finish off some work. Are you going home already?)

“Yup,” she answered. I caught her glancing nervously at her watch. “Jangan balik lambat sangat, Rozy. Dah pukul 9:30 dah ni. Mesti you dah dengar cerita-cerita tu …” (Don’t stay on too late, Rozy. It’s already 9:30 now. I’m sure you have heard those stories … )

I smiled, “Jangan risaulah, kalau I nampak dia, I bukak je baju. Gerenti lari.” (Don’t worry. If I see it, I will just take off my clothes. Guaranteed it will flee.)

She laughed, “Ha, jaga-jaga, silap-silap dia naik syok pulak dengan you, terus ikut balik malam ni.” (Ha, be careful, it might get smitten instead, and follow you home tonight.)

After bidding each other goodbye, I leant back in my chair. The office was silent. Save for a few working the night shift in the customer service department, I was the only one left in the entire building.

`The stories’ she was referring to are the kind that make you develop goose pimples so severe they are in danger of popping right out of your skin. Apparently, my workplace is haunted. Not just the office building, mind, but the whole bleeding complex. If you’ve been to my workplace, you’ll know what I mean. The abundance of trees and big bushes all over the place does have a cooling effect during the day, but at night, it can get really spooky.

The story goes that there is a Pontianak residing at our workplace. She used to only perch on top of a huge palm tree just outside the office, but lately there have been sightings of her within the building as well. One of the executives in customer service got so spooked that she hasn’t turned up for work to this day, after clearly seeing it standing in front of her - staring at her unblinkingly - and later followed her home on the very same night. There were also reportings of strange noises heard around the office – soft whistling, tapping sounds on the keyboard when nobody else was there, papers being shuffled and files being moved around in an empty office, the toilet flushing when nobody was in there, cutleries clinking against each other in an empty pantry and the sound of footsteps running around the building late at night. The ladies’ toilet seems to be the hotbed for such supernatural activities – strange noises were often heard coming from within, including the sound of a woman crying softly, taps being turned on and the doors banging against the door frames when there was no draft that could have possibly caused it. Once, a male colleague braved himself to investigate after hearing the sound of water running from the taps coming from the ladies’ loo; as soon as he opened the door, the toilet’s lights switched off by itself. He told us that he caught sight of droplets of water dripping from the taps, as if they had just been turned off.

I have worked late on a few occasions, and so far, I haven’t met with anything strange. Except for this one time when I heard the sound of a baby crying over the office intercom at around 10 at night. But I didn’t give it much thought, or paid too much attention to it, and just concentrate on the work at hand. Sometimes I would get so embroiled in my work that even if Hugh Jackman were standing right in front of me I wouldn’t have noticed, let alone a Pontianak. It’s not that I don’t believe they exist, but I think I’d rather face a few supernatural disturbances than my boss’ wrath. Hell hath no fury than a dissatisfied boss.

Let’s face it, these things are living amongst us whether we're aware of it or not. We’re supposed to be the superior being anyway – so why let our fears of the superunknown control us? The way I see it, if we pay too much attention to it, we will only end up scaring ourselves shitless. It's best to stay calm and nonchalant about it, and not lose our heads.

I know, easy for me to say – I haven’t seen a ghost my whole life; I might turn into a pathetic paralysed wreck shitting in my pants for all I know, if I do come across any.

They're real. There's tons of people who has seen it. Including me. They're just a manifestation of evil trying to make their way around this world.

well im an atheist, self proclaimed really. i dont believe in religion and its matters cause well i never gave it much thought.

but through experience, i cant deny such things they never attacked me. but well ya.

I can still remember it, yes. It's to remind me that there are supernaturals in this world and God does exist. I was 13 when it happened so.. It was 8 years ago. I'm 21 now. I was asleep before it happened and I didnt even make it to the toilet on that day because ya know, I passed out after seeing it.

lol...pls pm me when u all going for a visit..holiday now...kinda free...genting really famous wth those thing...i heard they even shut down whole floor...dun know la...scared to sleep now...another place i know shut down due to ghost matter are the smile complex at genting klang, they even put some feng shui staff to scared the ghost....u can c a chicken statue standing on the roof of the building. i remember i watch one hong kong movie b4, it say u eat dog meat then u can c those thing...try out lo...mind work who knows

the karak story i heard from my fren is when they driving they saw 2 men holding a coffin and run pass through them....

alpha apartment i heard from my fren is when he lepak at the top he felt reli creepy...

but the best place to c those thing are tomb la....especially those build inside the jungle.....
