I actually use .9 for my RR3 (I now dub my RR3 "Shreddy"), but changing up to .10s soon.

And the MXR Wylde Overdrive (ZW44) is a completely different beast then the Digitech Heavy Metal. The ZW44 is meant to BOOST your existing signal, rather then give you a distorted sound. Sure, it distorts your sound abit, but it's not the amount of Gain you'll be expecting.

But a 5k guitar that is well made, plays like a dream and will last you forever might be more worth it. FYI, I don't have an endless bank account. And IpohBoY, like ever say, a Chorus and Delay is pretty important, but I would say go for a Wah! If you're a rock or metal player, you'll almost certainly need a good wah. The dunlop GCB-95 is a good place to start.
