Check out Bullet For My Valentine's The Poison album for some examples of the RR-ish sounds (Although they do use RR5 and RR1..... it's roughly the same region of the RR3).
I have one, which is why I can recommend it.

Talk a little about the main guitars and amps that you were using on the record.

Did you try out any new guitars or amps on Scream Aim Fire?
We used a Bogner on this album, which is pretty cool. We used a Bogner on one side of the rhythm guitars, and that worked out well. We used a different guitar, too. I think the main guitar was an ESP Eclipse during The Poison, but this time around was a Gibson Les Paul Raw Power with EMGs. That was like the main tracking guitar. I did all my solos on that, too, because we couldn’t find another guitar to beat that tone.
I had no idea that you played Les Pauls.
Only in the studio!
Do you think you’ll take the Bogner on the road?
Maybe. We haven’t actually played them live, so there is always a possibility. We were lucky enough to keep the one that we used in the studio, so maybe. At the moment, I’m with Mesa. Maybe, I can’t say. http://www.ultimate-guitar.com/interviews/...der_record.html
LOS ANGELES (Reuters) – Rock guitarist Joe Satriani has sued British band Coldplay, accusing the Grammy-nominated stars of plagiarizing one of his songs.
Satriani's copyright infringement suit, filed on Thursday in Los Angeles federal court, claims the Coldplay song "Viva La Vida" incorporates "substantial original portions" of his 2004 instrumental "If I Could Fly."
The 52-year-old guitar virtuoso is seeking a jury trial, damages and "any and all profits" attributable to the alleged copyright infringement.
Coldplay, whose soaring atmospheric tunes are often compared to those of Irish rock band U2, received seven Grammy nominations on Wednesday, second only to rapper Lil Wayne.
Among its mentions were nominations in the key record and song of the year categories for "Viva La Vida," which comes from the band's chart-topping album "Viva La Vida or Death and All His Friends."
The song is credited to the band's four members, singer Chris Martin; bass player Guy Berryman; guitarist Johnny Buckland; and drummer Will Champion. The title was inspired by a painting by Mexican artist Frida Kahlo.
The Satriani track comes from his album "Is There Love in Space?" Further comment from Satriani's attorney, or reaction from Coldplay's management was not immediately available.

I have to agree that after hearing that sound clip, it sure sounds a HECK lot similar. But then again, Canon in D has been done in everything...... sooooooooooo..........
in my opinion, its not the chord progression. if it is, everyone will get sued. i guess its the melody thats gotten them into trouble.

Just feel like a fool being conned. Sent my MT-2 for repair due to a single electronic component failure which cost me RM90...... ><
Just watched the Linkin Park Road to Revolution DVD...... Glad they decided to mix up their guitars. Still love the vintage sound of the strat though.......
Yeah. I still listen to Linkin Park....... don't ask me why. I just do.
im thinking of getting that DVD too just to see the diff guitars and how they use it in their band context. (haha. sounds more like a uni assignment research). where did u get it? worth the money spent?
i wanted to post a happy birthday thread for blacktrix but i guess we did that last year (and the years before!) so i guessed i would just wait and see til YOU have to tell everyone its your birthday!
gotcha!
anyways, Happy Birthday blacktrix.
ps: even if you didnt mention it, i wouldve still put up a post wishing you happy birthday before midnight.
it isnt too bad once you get used to it. then again, ive been shredding above the 15 fret on my les paul for many years already. can always swap pickups on it.
theres nothing wrong with that guitar for me, except for the price. RM3.2k?!!! itll take quite a while to save up to that amount and then splash it all at one shot
yeah i know the neck is nice. its just the block of heel, something 'new' to me.
ebp: the paul allender is 3.2k? then what makes u still aim for that instead of a normal se custom, for cheaper?
hardware, the feel of the guitar, and the looks (finish on the other SE arent that nice). im still not entire sure if im going for it lah...not unless i can get it cheaper. also depending on money. gotta pay uni fees/books, pay for car petrol and mantainence, rent, etc. not easy la especially for a student who only works part time as a *gasp*guitarist
LP is already a signature guitar right? (les paul himself). thats the funny thing, theres signature guitars of a signature guitar.

a short question here:
I've already sent my guitar for setup. but, each time I use a capo, tuning is needed. Does that means that my guitar is not properly setup or its just the way it is if capo is used? Thanx!
most likely its your capo. cheap capo's are not accurate. theres a reason why people spend over a hundred for a good capo.
