TRD rims are 6jj
others are all 5.5jj

5.5jj can fit max 195mm...

i read some article with pictures and understand the offset thing a bit, but still got question as below.

my car oem rim is et38 , 6.5jj , 15" (for steel rim), satria neo, correct me if i am wrong haha

if i change to a much bigger size like 17" with wider tyre, let say 7jj (anyway is 6.5jj = 195?, 7jj is? 7.5jj is?) means my offset must be less than et38 to avoid scratching the inner part of the car? rclxub.gif

what is the effect if reduce offset compare oem standard? handling etc?

j or jj generally refer to the width of the rims.. as specifically j & jj is width & type of lips of the rims.. but to it is generally telling u whats the width of the rim.. normal rim is design with specific j/jj as in 15"-5jj, 16"-6jj, 17"-7jj and so on.. but some rims are design to be wider as to fit wider tyre to giv greater grip also some says for more weight to make the car stable on high speed & handling..

offset is shown by either (+) or (-) usually written ET+30/ET+20.. offset is how much space ur rim barrel is from the center hub.. in which how much the barrel is going out/inside of ur car fender when it is fixed to the hub.. the smaller the number the more the rims is offset from the center hub..

also dont mistaken j/jj & tyre width as j/jj is for rims & 195/205/215 are tyre width.. in which it is not bound to say it is fixed 5jj must be with 195.. as the tyre can be alot smaller in width then the rim or wider then the rims.. just that getting the rite width of tyre on certain width of rims will give better result in comfort & handling.. coz if tyre width is greater then the rims it tends to flex in which hav bad handling & loose fell on the road..

for the 15" part of course all same.. takkan gonna have 15.1"? but if ur talking specs wise... then no...not the same...every car has their own specific PCD, amount of lugs, and offset suitable for that car.. find out wats urs.

easiest way to find out is to remove ur current rim and look at the writings on the back

For 17" you be using either 55 or 50 profile tires. i think its should not be too bouncy.

15'' lor. current using proton persona ori alloy 15'' rims. 195/60/R15 is the tyre size which i suppose not affecting.
so it will be changing from 15'' to 15''.

y u all so lazy use search button..

all rims are same as if ur talking the general size.. yes 15" size will be the same as other 15" size.. what make the difference is the width & offset.. width is shown by 5j , 6j , 7j , 8j or more.. offsets are shown by ET+45, ET+40, ET+35 and so on.. so no worries as the basic size says 15" it should be 15"

you have to understand what contribute to the weight your talking about.. as not only the rim.. there is also tyre weight.. also amount of air in the tyre is weight.. also higher profile tyre will also contribute alot of weight as the thicker the tyre+mass of rubber.. so to say sometimes even changing rim would not give what u aiming for.. i don't know the stock pesona rim weight but some aftermarket rim on the same size is lighter.. but u have to find the right 1.. or else ur not gonna lose any weight at all.. also may i know why izzit that ur aiming for as if to lighten ur car sumore?

what car are u using? if ur talking about bouncy.. ur on any lowered springs or coilover? if no then don't have to worry on the bounciness.. the thing u have to worry is ur handling.. as changing to bigger size rim will make ur car higher and when thats happened ur handling gonna go off..

55 or 50 series profile are heavy.. also 45 is the ideal series as its not to thin and most malaysian car have issue of tyre hit the fender with 17" 50/55 series..

I am basing the 55 and 50 on narrower width, 45 would require wider tires to keep the speedo error within acceptable level and that might scrape. correct me if i am wrong

the best reason to change rims is of coz bcoz stock rims is a bit damaged. can be repaired but i rather change sport rims. Another is for looks of course. lightweight is considered as a bonus for pickup and fc although it is very marginal which might have no real change at all.

If I am not mistaken, ori stock rims is 9+ kg? so if the light weight series i can reduce weight by 16kg.
