when they r born, there's a soft membran protecting it...
in the span of a few hours, up to 6 hours... the membran will dry up, revieling the quills... but also very soft... |

QUOTE(eric138 @ Apr 29 2009, 10:32 PM) hehee...tnx...i also not really sure bout the colors..but i think malaysia wan also hard to determine the color right becoz lot mix breed d.. This statement not agreeable..We have lesser colour variation here.... if u go hedgehogcentral, there are like 20-30 colours... i dunno the exact figure la... malaysia.... i can break down to 3 so far.. lol dunno how to really differentiate them but of those 4 pics, the 2 SnP are of different colours...dun u all agree? the bottom one has more white quills.... snowflake? probably someone who's pro in the diffrentiating the colour can highlight to us.. |

QUOTE(eric138 @ Apr 29 2009, 10:43 PM) but to determine their colors, not only look at their quills right? hav to check their nose colors and also mask... to exactly determine the colour, have to consider all thatbut then, if we can't even differentiate the colour of the quills, y bother bout the other details? QUOTE(muchan86 @ Apr 29 2009, 11:36 PM) Jitshiong : As far as I know, to differentiate between SnP and Snowflakes SnP is, for normal SnP, if the black/dark brown quills is more than white quills and overall is looks like dark brown than its SnP. ok, then can help me decide if the 2nd pic is SnP or snowflake? While snowflakes is like 50% is white quills n 50% is dark brown. When u see the quills is more to white than it's snowflakes SnP which is Ken's color for sure While for cinnacot and cinnamon, cinnacot if not mistaken the color more to cream color/half albino color which is lighter while cinnamon is more to the light brown.. Not sure if this can help thou i see quite a number of white quills as well as black/brown banded quills hehehe |

QUOTE(muchan86 @ Apr 30 2009, 03:11 PM) My guess for 2nd pic is snowflakes Great!as u can see from the pic most of its are in white and u can see some of the quills are totally white as in doesnt mix with brown banded quills. Thus if u compare with pic number 1 u can see that most of it are brown banded quills and for 2nd pic u can spot some quills are totally pure white... Although I'm not sure but judging from picture that u gave it should be snowflakes I always think Mika's snowflake just not sure of it... so probably u guys who got her hoglets r having snowflakes instead of SnP lol! go count the percentage of their quills... |
