well. funny..

i did't apply for any credit limit increase on my credit cards.. but they automatically increase for me and send a congratulation letter stating they recognized me as a valued customer.. LOL

from my experience... banks that automatically increase your limit after a period of time is :-

citibank *
maybank
HLB


* citibank seems to have preference to visa cards.. my mastercard since 2003 did't increase a single cent from initial 3K.. while for my visa they increase like mad to 15K!!! WTF!!
