QUOTE(tepetlah @ Jan 17 2009, 10:30 AM) intent to buy this BDP-35 bcoz it can bitstream dts hd-ma.....got forumer review its more bright audio if decoded by avr like yammy 663 Better wait for the new models to appear bro. The BDP-35 is no longer in production and many places especially online retailers don't have them anymore. Those that have them are selling them for over $400. Amazon at one point had them for $230, $130 if you minus out the Black Friday promos |

The BD60 is already available at amazon. Currently I'm waiting for Pioneer to release their player in about three weeks before deciding which one to get. Will get them from amazon

Did some testing with the Pioneer player earlier today. First disc I tested was The Incredible Hulk.
Normally when people move from a PS3 to a standalone BD player, their first complaint would be the long loading time. I'm happy to report that there's no such issue with the Pioneer but the loading time is just a wee bit longer compared to the PS3. When the Universal logo came up I straightaway noticed the improvement. It has a distinctinctive 3D look and the logo looks like it was gonna pop out of the screen! The black outerspace backgroud is very deep and the colors are very vibrant and this is very noticeable throughout the movie when compared to the PS3. Skin tones also looks much nicer and Liv Hurley looks even yummier than before Not able to comment on the audio much as I didn't feel like blasting the speakers just now. Will do more testing tomorrow morning but unfortunately I won't have much time with the player. I bought this player from amazon for another forumer who's kind enough to let me have a spin first and I'll be handing over the player to him in the afternoon |

QUOTE(samlee860407 @ Jun 26 2009, 08:37 AM) huh? BD60 no good ? If you're willing to spend a few hundred more and don't mind buying online, get the Pioneer BDP-320. I've tested it along with the Panasonc BD60 and Samsung BD-P1600 and the Pioneer is the clear winner in terms of AQ and PQ i din read this thread for some time liao.....i still thinking to sell off my PS3 and get a BD60 leh....besides BD60, any other recommendations at around the same price? |

QUOTE(jchong @ Jun 26 2009, 09:45 AM) Winner in AQ and PQ for what kind of disc? DVD or BD? BDs. I dunno, maybe it's because they were not calibrated individually but out of the box, the Pioneer comes out tops For BD, as far as I understand most of the players are about similar (even the Oppo 83). It's in DVD where the player's upscaling capability can make quite a difference. As for AQ, I presume this is using the onboard decoding? If bitstream to AVR, then the player's AQ is redundant right? Added on June 26, 2009, 10:16 am QUOTE(samlee860407 @ Jun 26 2009, 10:15 AM) Amazon, then send through Vpost. This post has been edited by arj: Jun 26 2009, 10:16 AM |
