Hi sifus, i was wondering on the pioneer LX51. I was at HNorman and the fella was offreing the player at 2199 with a free HDMI cable. It also allowed for interest free payment too. Shall I? very tempted.

Or I may just upgrade my current DVD player to a better one.

Thanks

errr... Profile 2.0 firmware?

nonono...not profile 2.0. It is firmware 1.21

Added on December 26, 2008, 12:11 pmi have done a more thorough test on the 51. the audio quality is simply great. i was playing my all time favourite movie 'close encounter' and it was a whole new experience!!! loading time after the fw update has also improved much, and it looks like a 'tank'...hehe

When Htkaki mentioned 2.0, he meant the BD Profile 2.0, not the firmware version.

I think he meant to ask if the new firmware update will include support for BD Profile 2.0. The player was originally shipped with BD Profile 1.1.

good question? i do not think so..i still believe it is 1.1. but i will check.

hi, Have a question here..I have a pioneer bdp51 and it is a region A set (malaysia). I just got a uk version National treasure 2 which is version B (as stated on box and disk) and it runs smoothly on my player!!! Is it an error on the BD? or does my player play region B too?...I hope it is the later..Thanks

Go here to check for region B coding info. Click on other tabs for other regions.

BTW, those new players look like the upgrade is more to downloading online content and better designs. rclxms.gif

just read what hi-fi, seems that the pioneer bdp-51 was given best choice for bdp players in a bdp shoot out.

I am a BDP-51 user too and am very satisfied with it...the only problem is i have not compared it with any other players as i only have one BD player....If only it was 2.0 compliant..then it would be perfect!
