But buying there you'll get proper warranty and stuffs. When Sony officially release here, it will be expenive too, I'm guessing around RM2k.

Why Sony Malaysia haven't launch it here still baffles me. They put it in their Sony Styles but with a card saying "Not For Sale, Demonstration Purposes Only". doh.gif

Recently I saw Blu-ray pirated disc sold(from china) at the market.....wondering...the actual Blue-Ray player can play the disc...
some said cannot and some say can......dunno who to believe...

I am considering to upgrade my dvd.....dunno whether want the Blue-ray player ...or those with DVD upconversion.....

I also heard PSP3 can play blue ray disc....but the salesman said...possible not to use the PSP3 for Blue Ray...cause...it will spoil the lens.....true or not ah?... hmm.gif

Thanks aiman04 and htkaki for replying

But, considering that I only use to play DVD-9 disc.....well...upconversion DVD suit me better....

By the way, how much the Blue-ray disc normally you purchase....normally...cost 130 - 140 per pcs... not affortable la.......quite expensive.... hmm.gif

PS3 will consider in next budget....cause...not suitable for DVD....I can't afford to buy both...my wife will kill me later blush.gif

Wow!! All gold-plated !! drool.gif

Callmevil, using the 7 channel analogue outs, all you need is a power amp. The sub out connect directly to the subwoofer.

If using AVR, connect them to your multi-channel analogue inputs. With this connection, your AVR only act as a power amp and channel them to the speakers, no more DAC as it's already been done by the player. And be sure to use best quality cables with gold-plated contacts. thumbup.gif

PS: My 80GB PS3 can play SACD, bought it for only RM1.8k. tongue.gif

Someone selling Samsung BD-P1400 in garage sales for RM1250. That's a better player. Can decode all except DTS-MA but still at least it can bitstream DTS-MA. Too bad its only profile 1.0
*
DTS-MA???

is it DTS-HD MA => DTS HD Master Audio???

Sorry if I ask silly question....

Ah.....Our AVR 805/875 have the DTS HD MA also....if connect with HDMI...decoded by our AVR...are the problem solved if the player no DTS HD MA..right?

What I meant with DTS-MA is DTS-HD Master Audio la bro. Malas mau tulis panjang. I learnt that from rx tongue.gif

Anyway, ur DBP must be capable to bitstream DTS-MA la if u want to use your DTS-MA capable amp to decode.

After spending an hour more to read all this thread, I am understand more already....

Well...Have you brought anything (espeically the BDP) using your AMEX?......

By the way, what is the best deal BD player now (except PS3 la) after all the new BDP coming out?

Nope the Sharp BD-20 dont do DTS-HDMA at all, internally or bitstream. I'm also using that player. All DTS-HDMA encoding gets downgraded to normal DTS.

Check out here: http://www.blu-ray.com/players/players.php?id=20&show=specs

Yeah for that price its a steal. I got my Sharp BD-HP20A for RM800 biggrin.gif
