Since you already have the card, why not just buy the aftermarket cooling online ? It wont die that soon so dont worry.

QUOTE(hvaly @ Nov 15 2008, 02:25 PM)
hello all sifu there ... i will get my 4850 today, can i know which software is the best to overclock ?
after i gone through the forum here , i found out many tools out there, can someone recommend me which to use ?

CCC ? ati tools ? ati tray tools ?
*
You can use AMD GPU Clock Tool(to clock the card) and atitool(stress testing) together.

Did you do the fan speed adjustment ? That would make the idle and load temp lower.

Your card already have that power consumption thingy called "PowerPlay" so you dont need to do anything.

Just put it permanently at the desired fanspeed would be a better choice. smile.gif

Overclock (690/2260) and stock gives the same problem.

Just use the Overdrive function in the catalyst driver, use the auto tune feature. That would do the trick. wink.gif

72c is normal for load temps dont worry. What's your current fan speed ?

We normally use 3dmark and furmark for stability testing.

~Rogue~

you can try what pikacu said, decrease the mem speed and try the stability testing again.

QUOTE(~Rogue~ @ Feb 15 2009, 05:58 PM)
guys why does the vpu recovery keep on appearing?
*
QUOTE(hilmiangah @ Feb 15 2009, 06:00 PM)
it means that the driver crash and the cause is either u overclock the proc to high or something.
pikacu..............explanation please.
*
QUOTE(~Rogue~ @ Feb 15 2009, 06:02 PM)
anyway to recover it ?
*
Not related to the processor mind you, its the gc itself. Try to downclock it and see how.
