The official trailer is out now, but maybe due to heavy traffic, the trailer is taking a long time to load at the official site... sad.gif

Ah, my mistake, the trailer is still not out on the official site yet, it's just the teaser trailer... doh.gif

Tsk tsk tsk (shakes head)... the 2009 Enterprise is dripping with beauty...  biggrin.gif

The boosters looks so damn sweet...

Can't even imagine how good it will look with all the CG and effects.

This is definitely getting on my "Must Watch 2009 Movies" list. My fren J J Abrams has done it again...
*
Those are not called boosters, it's called "nacelles"... A nacelle is an outboard engine housing structure on a spacecraft.

As expected, someone in the USA went and filmed the new trailer using a handycam in a cinema showing Quantum of Solace...

But this particular recording is not complete as it only shows 1:30 of the trailer... I think there's about 15 to 20 secs more...

Found a complete version of the same new trailer...

Yeah, I noticed the villain from Iron Man. laugh.gif Can't remember which one is the 24 dude; but he's the one died first during free-fall jumping scene, rite? laugh.gif
*
Yeah, that's Faran Tahir... The other guy at the free-fall scene, Chief Engineer Olsen is played by Greg Ellis, he also appeared in the 1st and 2nd sequel of Pirates of the Carribean, he was also the lead villain in the 2008 Knight Rider TV pilot movie...

3) Where's the main Star Trek theme?!?!?! Waited for the credits to end but still didn't hear it sad.gif
*
U mean the Alexander Courage original version, right? It was played in its entirety during the end credits... But it was mixed with Michael Giacchino's composition...

QUOTE(azarimy @ May 8 2009, 04:16 PM)
if this film is considered canon in the star trek universe, then the rest of the star trek spinoffs (the next generation, deep space nine, voyager) except enterprise simply did not happen. brilliant, bcoz i totally dont mind a new star trek tv-series of the original generation.

the problem is, to get the cast to play a tv-series might be too much to ask. well, atleast i could hope for several sequals to this film.
*
Yeah, U might be right, but I think it would be kinda nice if they can make a new TV series based on this "Alternate Trek Universe"...

I'm happy that they've oredi confirmed a sequel scheduled for a 2011 release... rclxms.gif

WTF is Nero's ship looking like a tentacled octopus when its a frakking mining vessel.

WTF is with the Romulan's tattoo, didnt even care to explain. Probably just there so they look badass, just like their ship. Hell they dont even look like Romulans.

GODDAMNIT, this just pisses me off so much.
*
Your confusion is explained in the 4-issue movie prequel comics, Star Trek: Countdown...

The reason why the Narada (Nero's ship) had "tentacles" is becoz of the integration of Borg technology...

You can read a summary of the prequel story here:

i beg to differ. i love the score.
it has homages to the original "Star Trek : The Motion Picture" and the Original Series.
small nuances of emotive composition here and there.
very nice if you ask me.
*
I like the Michael Giacchino score too, although it's not the best Trek score... I especially like the way Michael used the Chinese Er-hu to portray the Vulcans... It sounds really nice...

now what happened to old spock ? hmm...
*
At the end of the movie, Spock Prime said that he is off to help the Vulcans in rebuilding their home in another planet he claimed to have found... So I guess he has been "written off" from the sequels until they feel that they should bring him back again...
