This is Brownie icon_rolleyes.gif she have been with me for 2 weeks.
when first my brought her home. she can eat kibbles, but she prefer Milk, but my dad bought milk that so not good. So i went to Pet Shack and buy the Pets Own Milk. and feed her with milk for 1 weeks, and now she no longer need to be feed with milk.

So experts, can u determine Brownies age? and whats wrong with her left eye? since the first time we brought her home, her eyes penuh dengan tahi mata untill now.

Brownie seems to be very very very active, she sleep only for awhile and then play play play.

Cute kitten you have there!   rclxms.gif About the eye discharge, you can clean it with warm water and a towel. I think Brownie is around 2 months old. Did you take Brownie to the vet for checkup?
*

Cute kityyyyy!!!

Eye discharge can be normal, and like the others, I really really recommend you to bring the dear kitty to vet for a checkup. That might be a sign of infection or parasites/worms (from the mother). Go for vaccination and de-worming of you want your kitten to be sick-free.  nod.gif

From the pic it does looks like a young kitten, at least 7 weeks and above.

You made the right move by feeding the cat with a proper milk  rclxms.gif . Learn my lesson 10 yrs ago when I fed my kittens (who is now 11 yr old) with normal milk. Expect major diarrhea on walls, haha!

And last but not least, don't EVER feed your cats with ikan goreng. She/he'll be addicted to it...forever! Like my spoiled cat, Hitam. And its not healthy. Stick with kibbles aka dry food and wet food (tuna) occasionally.

Good luck with Brownie!  icon_rolleyes.gif

arhhh! thank you sidergirl thumbup.gif
but my kitten have already spoiled by my sister who keep feeding Brownie with some ayam goreng and scramble egg this few days and i know its not healthy. doh.gif
but i think its still not too late to change Brownie's appetite erh?

what do u guys suggest of cat foods kibble brand for kitten?

at the moment i think the suitable one is Iams kitten with minimal budget ehehehe..

KL royal canin price will increase next week.. increase by 30%. Malacca also i heard increase next week 30%. Iams increase alil bit about rm5-10 since last 2 months. You can also go for Science Plan Kitten (which is vet recommend).
*
bahah! i think for a moment with my financial, its the best to feed Brownie with Iams laugh.gif
thank you for ur advise elfreakz notworthy.gif

I was in a bit of shock when you mentioned eggs, but scramble eggs is fine, as long as its not raw. Here a good article on what not to feed to your cats.

Iams, Eagle Pack, etc. can make your wallet 'berlubang' in a way. But yeah, Elfreak had suggested some line of good brands for your kitten. My advice, go to petshop that sells dry food in bulk or the one by weight (the one that got the whole 'tong'). Haha.

And no, its never too late to change Brownie's appetite. Do it gradually (bit by bit). If you look behind a typical cat food description, they always provide on how to change cat's eating habit.

Changing diet (taken from Purina)
For the first couple of weeks of settling in your new kitten, you should stick to the same brand of kitten food recommended by the breeder or rescue centre, unless there is an obvious problem. Change is stressful, and a diet change at the same time as coping with a new home, can cause tummy upsets in a youngster. If you want to change your kitten's diet after a couple of weeks, you should do so gradually.

    * Put a little of the new food in with the current food and mix it all together.
    * Over the course of seven to ten days, gradually increase the amount of new food added, whilst reducing the amount of the former food until a complete change over has been made.

Did I say grass is good for your cats too? A good 'pelawas', hehe.

haaaaaaaaa

just be careful not to buy the repack version... some of them are the one from expired one. .they repack it so you think its new + cheaper.

buying bigger pack will save your money, and it last longer. 3.63kg of iams kitten is about RM66. 10kg of iams kitten is rm132.. you can see the different right... if your cat eat 3.63kg a month, and right now you have RM150, why don't buy 10kg for RM132, and it will last for 3 months smile.gif but this is your choice smile.gif i prefer buying in big pack.

if you only have 1 cat, why not get the super premium or premium smile.gif
*
I saw the trial pack of Iams. only RM5.40 if im not mistaken. is that dont u think?

Super Premium of Premium? Izzit the one of Iams product?

no no.. that one is trial pack...

repack = they take out the food, and pack it in transparent plastic bag with no labels and expiry date.

super premium and premium.. lets make it simple and call it premium food smile.gif such as royal canin, eagle pack, iams, proformance, science plan, evolve, blackwood, etc etc.. all this food cannot be found in supermarket, but only petshop...

if you want super premium (but expensive), such as innova evo and orijen smile.gif

any premium is good, they contain "LESS" grains.
super premium "do not" contain any grains, they have all 100% meat/chicken, that's why expensive.

maybe can try petshack.. hmm else Ikano Power Centre Pet Safari...

just to let you know Innova Evo and Orijen the 100% meat.. may spoil faster when exposed to open air. and some cat may not like it, and they get full stomach easily.

just now u mention iams trial pack, maybe can try that if you afraid your cat don't want it.
*
i think, i'll try the Iams trial pack 1st smile.gif
thank you for the information elfreaksz notworthy.gif

Hi Hazzy, dun worry about those eye discharge. They can never be healed. Just use some warm water and a towel to clean it when there is some on her eye.  smile.gif

Is her eyes visibly watery or there seem to be a discharge everyday? My cat has a eye discharge everyday, and his eyes seem fine. If its too watery, then there might be a prob then.
*
It seem to be discarge everyday and theres visibly watery,
and nampak mcm ade ketumbid sikit, but then, sometimes the ketumbid appear and sometimes takde pulak sweat.gif

Aiyak, like that ar? I have two cats, and sometimes I always bring one of them separately for a check up. And every time I ask the vet about my other cats prob, he always said to bring the cat instead of telling him the prob. Its either he wants to see what's really happening to the cat or he just wants more money from me, haha!

Wah, never seen a cat with a sty (ketumbit) before. You went to vet already? If you think that's a prob, maybe you might wanna ask your vet about it or show a bit evidence on your phone camera, lol. Seeing is believing right? Hehe.
*
hmm hmm, it looks like a sty, but not exactly a sty really sad.gif
i think the best thing is to brought her to vets kan? shakehead.gif

QUOTE(elfreakz @ Aug 2 2008, 04:40 PM)
macam kena cakar ke? cats suka main guna kuku, kadang2 tercakar antara satu sama lain. pernah nampak my cat kadang2 ada macam bengkak then ok after that.

else infection, hopefully tak involve ulser.. ouch!
*
no no no, dia tak kene cakar, sebab she the only one kitten in the house. kucing lain semua letak dekat luar sweat.gif
tu la yg pelik tuh
