QUOTE(aieti81 @ Aug 6 2008, 03:15 PM) yes, u can..but it will not support resume and segments dloads..and obviously will not support direct downloads.. your statement make me abit blur, at first u said can, but the last sentence you said "obviously will not support direct downloads"... i tried to d/l it using IDM, but what i'm downloading is just the html page, not the file. wat's the trick to get the file into download manager? i don't mind it doesn't support resume and segment downloads, just need to use your method to get better speed from RS. |

it seems the software works fine, but only at first i get burst speeds up to 80-90kbps... within 1 to 2 seconds it drops to 40+ kbps. but still better than just now 8 - 10kbps...
means maybe shitmyx found a way to detect data packets from those proxies... and throttle them too... maybe got some a-s-s-*-o-l-e shitmyx spy here... This post has been edited by jananan: Aug 6 2008, 10:40 PM |

Here is a reply that i got from TMNet when i email them about the Rapidshare download speed drop.
Here is my question:Im a Rapidshare premium user and Streamyx 1mb line. The problem is my download speed has dropped from the usual 160kbps from rapidshare server to just around 30kbps max.The reason i apply for Streamyx is to download from Rapidshare server. What is the problem really and do TMNET capped or throttle the download speed from Rapidshare server.I hope this problem can be rectify immediately. And this is their answer: Dear Mr. Muhammad Hilmi, Thank you for your e-mail. Firstly, we would like to apologise for the late reply. We refer to your query on slow transfering speed from rapidshare server, we would like to inform that download speed of any file sharing (via http (hypertext transfer protocol), peer to peer, bittorrent and other file sharing programs) will actually depend on the other parties speed as well. TM does not throttle the speed of your connections hence, we would like to advise you to proceed with some basic troubleshooting, in order for us to streamline the issue that you are facing currently. 1. Bypass splitter/micro filter/fax machine/lightning protector 2. Stand alone connection, from wall socket to modem (No parallel line) 3. Flush DNS (Domain Name Server) a) For Win 98/ME: - Click "Start" button, go to "Run" - Type "winipcfg" and then click "Ok" button - Select your network card name from the adapter drop-down menu - Click on "Release" button - The IP address should display 0.0.0.0. Then click "Renew All" - Click "Ok" button to close the window b) For Win XP/2000: - Click on "Start" button, go to "Run" - Type "command", click "Ok" button - Type in "ipconfig/flushdns", then press "Enter" button - Make sure the result is "Successfully flushed the DNS Resolver cache" - Type "exit" and press "Enter" to close the window screen c) For Windows Vista: - Click the Microsoft Vista Start logo in the bottom left corner of the screen - Click "All Programs" - Click "Accessories" - Right-click on "Command Prompt" - Select "Run As Administrator" - In the command window, type in "ipconfig /flushdns", then press "Enter" - You should see the result "Successfully flushed the DNS Resolver Cache" 4. Switch off the modem, unplug/re-plug all cables, wait for 5 to 10 minutes before switching on the modem 5. Create new dialer and configure DNS - (Preferred DNS Server: 202.188.0.133/Alternate DNS Server: 202.188.1.5) 6. Clear Temporary Files, cookies, SSL Certificates under Internet Options - Open Internet Explorer and select "Internet Options" - Under the "General" tab, click "Delete Files" and "Delete Cookies" button - Select "Content" tab and click "Clear SSL State" button - Click "Ok" button to finish 7. Reset browser settings - Open Internet Explorer and select "Internet Options" - Under "Advanced" tab, click "Restore Defaults" buttons - Click "Ok" button to save settings 8. Disable Firewall 9. Perform Windows scan to check for bad sectors in your hard disk 10. Disable antivirus software 11. Disable P2P software running in background 12. Reboot computer and the modem 13. Do a bandwidth test from our website as follows: (http://202.188.95.52:8080/speedometer/) If the result is below 70% of the required speed, please reply us by attaching the result in kbits. However, if the problem still persists, please provide us the following details for further action. 1) User name: 2) Contact Person: Mr. Muhammad Hilmi, 3) Contact Number - Home/Office: - Mobile phone: 4) Operating System: 5) Modem Brand: 6) Streamyx Telephone Number: 7) Streamyx Package: 8) 1 Bandwidth Test Result: 9) When the problem occurred: 10) When is the best time to call you: For further assistance or feedback, kindly e-mail us at help@tm.com.my. Alternatively, you can also contact TM at 100 and select "Internet Services". We would like to thank you for your feedback and we look forward to serving you better. Hurm.... from my experience's la ...TMNET never throttle your speed....i think its all about where u connected to...like mine if i connect to 118.*.* my rapidshare download only 10kbps and below....but if i connect to 219.95.* or 218.*.* i manage to get my max speed ...350kbps
so my advice is try change ip address if ur rapidshare dl slow.. huhuhuu just a few click! only... Good Luck! |
