My unit, When idle...no la...
Further to the humming sound....from my reading...the humming can happen when the signal only send to the subwoofer....so...not necessary when only idle can hear.....
The reason I ask so much.....what is the different between the interconnector cable and subwoofer cable=> sub cable with space-lug.....That's why I would like to decide which one to buy for my sub...keeee
I read...majority mentioned the humming sound....if in future...humming might be happen when signal send to subwoofer....
Anyhow, might be just to look for the sub-cable only.....keeee

I'm using Audioquest Sub-A Subwoofer Cable currently to connect my Sub to my AVR, i didn't use the spade lug althought my cable come with it.

Is this due to "cap ayam" cable?
As search some reading from wikipedia:
"Connections are made by pushing the cable's plug into the female jack on the device. The signal-carrying pin protrudes from the plug, and often comes into contact with the socket before the grounded rings meet, resulting in loud hum or buzz if the audio components are powered while making connections. Continuous noise can occur if the plug partially falls out of the jack, breaking ground connection but not the signal. Some variants of the plug, especially cheaper versions, also give very poor grip and contact between the ground sheaths due to their lack of flexibility."Or any other problem....can cause hum sound?????
Based on the reading above....if i am not understand wrongly....this due the the breaking ground connection within the two unit (AVR and the subwoofer).
So the space-lug really can really help to the subwoofer to get rid of the hum problem??? Any one have this experience?
By the way, where to coonect the spade lug? is it to the chasis of AVR and another end at the Subwoofer.....right?

I asked A&L incharge person on this hum sound when i bought my Sub, he mentioned to me that we usually don't experience this problem in Malaysia.

This problem mostly happen in oversea according to him.
Yes, it is connect to the chasis of AVR and another end at the Subwoofer. You can connect it by lossen the screw at the back of the AVR and the Sub, remember to tighten back your screw after install the spade lug.
