But still we need to manually tweak it or modify their settings to suit THX standard or our standard right?

Guys, do I still need to calibrate my Sub using SPL Meter after running the audyssey auto set-up and manual settings as above??

Megatron, I think you should hurry up to discard your 1800 ASAP while it still has some value.........

Added on February 3, 2009, 5:34 pmOne question, lets say we set our 5 channels to 80Hz and LPF of LFE to 120Hz, is there any double bass or so called bass duplication in the region of 80Hz to 120Hz ??

Hey guys,

I have re-adjusted all 5 channels to 80Hz, and try to tweak the LPF of LFE to 120Hz as suggested by aiman04. My previous settings were 60Hz for 5 channels and 80Hz for LPF of LFE. The result is front speakers not much difference but surrounds seem more open up. Anybody can explain the sound variation from 60Hz to 80Hz?

But I sense my Sub is now working more than ever! Any signals below 80Hz from 5 channels are now re-directed to the Sub, and additional 40Hz from LPF of LFE (80Hz ~ 120Hz). Is this good for the Sub? Or do I hear better bass & lighter tweeter from 5 speakers channels?

Please let us know what is your frequency response on your front/center/surround speaker. I think your surround had limited range. That's why when u set it higher from 60 to 80, your surround now more open up. Don't worry too much on your sub as it has it's own amp build in and only need to drive 1 channel. Your AVR has to drive 5 channels. Relief some load from your AVR to your sub will help.

My surround is Celestion MKII bookshelf. I cant find the frequency range at the back. But normally bookshelf should be able to go down to 60Hz right?
My front is KEF Coda 9 floorstander.

You are spot on HTkaki. Then where is the place for all the HD ready or 42" & below tv owners gonna to take a shelter ? cry.gif icon_question.gif

I think you guys have misused the word "Elite" as much as "Budget" ? Some posts show that their system is budget or entry level but turns out to be more than RM10k. OMG....... cry.gif In future, lesser & lesser forumers will share their system, malu mah, maybe only left with the real serious contenders.........Hehehe.

mpyw is certainly in the Elite Club. HTkaki, one good suggestion, maybe you come out a thread with the so call "Elite Members" so that we can really see who are the real hi-end owners. The non members will then dream but will not feel isolated or finding a hard time to hide.

I dont understand why the UK HT always equipped with 2 Subs ?! As you can observe, many av forumers house have 2 subs. Imagine, we have 2 SVS subs sitting facing us in front. Even our concrete floor will rattle........phew.

Anyone using 2 subs in your set-up?

Maybe our BOLEHLAND housing structure are not that solid compare to European houses. As you can see, even with one Sub, most of us encounter the Sub's wave problem. My son sleeping in the upstair closed door master room also felt some kind of shock wave....using his both hands to block his ears tightly and said "Daddy I 'm scared". I felt sorry for him later. sad.gif

What if we have 2 subs or even worst 4 subs in a group. The insane part is they are using SVS ultra............ Dont you think their family members will not complaint? Old ones will get heart attack for sure especially watching horror movies, OMG.

Anyone here report using 2 or more subs, can we have your views pls?

Thanks guys. I think I have overlooked this simple habit of unplug the main socket. I have used to over-dependent on the power-surge kit.

Every nite before bed habit will become 2nd nature.........*_*

Cheers.
