kiraichi, mintak tolong ko tanya pegawai residen pelajar (aka en. zul kan? ) tanya pasal boleh tak student2 gmi semester 5 skarang duduk luar dari hostel. sebab kami dah pon ada rumah kat luar ni, sewa sejak implant training hari tu.

kalau tak bleh, tanya dia bilik kat hostel tu nanti random ke?sebab tak silap aku hari tu aku tak tulis pon surat untuk nama2 yang tinggal serumah kat hostel.

hmm, i'll try my best to help u.

all courses in GMI are diploma level.

the courses are divided into 2 main group, which is Industrial Electronics (IE) and Production Technology (PT).

under Industrial Electronics, there are several course, which are:

a. Electronics and Information Technology (EIT)
b. Network Security (NWS)
c. Mechatronics (Mecha)
d. Process Instrumentation and Control (PIC)

under Production Technology there are several courses also, which are (sorry i don't know much about these courses since i'm not under them):

a. Product Design
b. Tool and Die
c. Mould

learning in GMi is quite tough for a diploma-based course. i guess it's almost like you're getting a HND (Higher National Diploma) try asking ppl that has diploma around and compare it with GMI. you'll be like "OMG i think i'm taking a degree???" in GMi there are no hall-based lectures..the lecturers will teach u in class and after that u straight do practical at nearby workbench. technical classes are usually in 4~5hours duration, and average student:lecturer ratio is about 20:1


job prospect is that most companies and industries welcomed GMI students to be in their team, as GMI students are well known to do jobs quite well, independent, know their stuffs well and hardworking. (this one i'm not lying to you, go to big companies and see their comments about GMi students..i'm not boasting or talk cock k)

note: these are my experience from GMI old campus in cheras. some of my info might be invalid though as GMI now moved to bangi already.

mechanical, as in mechanical engineering?

well i'm not quite sure about that since i'm not in that course. but what i know is that production technology aka PT is more towards handling those factory equipments and machines and creating a new product or producing something (e.g making a new hardware tool, making plastic moulds, handling those heavy CNC machinery etc)..and from there, u can see that PT students have better body physique than IE students (taller, tougher etc)

i heard production technology students are higher paid than industrial electronic students when they grad. but of course, the work is more tiring lah since you're in factory environment. some of the seniors said they are paid around RM2500 basic (not included allowance etc) after they grad. but the work are quite tiresome.

if that fits into your definition of mechanical program, then i guess yes.

sorry, im not so sure about that. it's been 2 years already lah since my admission into GMi

kewujudan course network security?dulu ada TTO nama azman jantan, dia yang propose course ni kat GMi and MARA, sekali dengan joint-venture dengan Huawei-3COM. tak silap aku dia ada masters dalam networking ni.

tapi masa kami sem 3, dia berhenti kerja GMi sebab ada offer dari Shell Australia. so terkapai-kapai lah TTO netsec. tapi skarang dah stable sket, ada banyak TTO baru yang focus kat networking and TTO yang lama contohnya Mr Hafiz Razali dah semakin otai.haha.

rindu plak aku kat sir hafiz hanafi. dia baru je berhenti kerja lepas kami final exam sem 4.


short course?i'm not so sure. there are so many new subject rooms that i've never seen before in the old GMi. perhaps there are more short course than before?sorry can't help you on that.

as for the website, yeah, they're compiling all the course available and course that'll be introduced next year. equipments at GMi hasn't arrived yet due to BN -> PKR government conversion and the documentation signing has been temporarily halted. expect next month (november) for the equipments to start arriving at GMi.

btw, what is automotive technology lab at ground floor at kom-tek IE??practical bukak pasang enjin BMW, Audi dengan Mercs ke?




btw, aku tengah pening pikir pasal final year projek network security ni. susah seh jadi 1st batch ni. takde example dari batch lepas2.
