If you check at Dell's online store, they are selling their lower end 24" monitor (S2409W) for RM1089. I bought it from PC World for RM1040 and received it yesterday Havent check the news for quite some times
However bear in mind that its Full HD and its native resolution is 1920x1080 (16:9). I use it mainly for PS3 so no qualms there. Also plugging it to my laptop.
As far as I know, this is the only 24" monitor that is around RM1000 (which is why I bought it hahaha). The closest is BenQ's newly released full hd monitor at about RM1100-RM1200 or so I heard.
