QUOTE(g5sim @ Oct 6 2008, 11:45 AM) when buying 30" monitor i assume you dun put in 2feet from your face. if or media only 32" LCD TVs are <>RM1700 nia I'm now actually using a 32" LCD TV as a monitor due to insufficient space but the resolution is just @ 1360x768 which is insufficient for me... So, that's why I'm planning to buy a 30" monitor for higher resolutions.... Plus I'm planning to get it is because of future proof.... But for now, it seems that the options are quite limited.... |

QUOTE(kayef @ Oct 6 2008, 04:22 PM) Great, I'll go check it out, which shop is it? I'm considering this and the samsung LA32A550. I want a monitor with a large working area so I can do my work better but I dont want to do dual monitor setup. The only worry I have about the samsung is that the screen size is too big and the resolution is not high enough. I havent seen a PC connected to it though but I'll try to hunt for it and compare the both before deciding. No need to go there coz it's gone liao.... I just went there yesterday..... if u wan perfection, then get a 30" and run dual dvi to run native of 2560x1600.... That's the biggest workspace u can go.....the second biggest is 1920x1200 which is supported by 22" and above... depends on budget... I wan a 30" monitor bcoz of the 2560x1600 native onli.... |

QUOTE(PaiGeWonG @ Oct 6 2008, 04:55 PM) Err wad do u mean by Hdmi ADAPTER ? Meaning he's actually using a DVI-HDMI adapter which requires a HDMI cable for connectivity.... However, the adapter actually carries audio and display together.... For ur method, u r using a DVI-HDMI cable which carries onli display so, audio will not bother u since the cable dun carry audio at all....Cos im not using any extra adapters or any adapters Im only using a (GC)DVI-D ------> (MONITOR)HDMI cable itself , no adapters or wadsoever wor I think for his problem, he hav to manually disable the sound from the control panel or sumthing... NVIDIA or ATI?? Sry... din read ur post.... If NVIDIA, it shouldn't carry any sound at all... If ATI, I think u can try to locate the audio properties in the CP to disable it.... If otherwise fail, u hav to get a DVI-HDMI cable.... |

QUOTE(owikh84 @ Oct 6 2008, 07:38 PM) Nope... Actually different.... DVI-HDMI cable onli carries video coz it is still DVI input but convert the other end to HDMI interface onli... Whereas DVI-HDMI adapter is actually an adapter that converts the DVI input to HDMI interface and also carries sound as well... But for NVIDIA, I dun think that the adapter will carry sound bcoz there's another socket to connect if u wanna get sound from GC (example GTX 280) whereas for ATI, it will carry the sound from DVI if u use the adapter together since there's no other sockets to connect for sound...Added on October 7, 2008, 1:03 am QUOTE(firef0x @ Oct 6 2008, 10:37 PM) as below I believe that PaiGeWong is not using dual link... Using DVI-D onli....DVI I (Single Link) DVI I (Dual Link) DVI D (Single Link) DVI D (Dual Link) DVI A (Analog) which connector is your using? This post has been edited by Aura: Oct 7 2008, 01:03 AM |

QUOTE(qwerty79 @ Oct 16 2008, 10:30 PM) Yeah, I'm also want to know what g.c. can run 1920 x 1200? If only for watching movie any g.c can right? Only for playing game I think need high end g.c. Yes, if movie playback, u can use any gc but the higher end the better still coz can cut video encoding/decoding times.... If u wanna fully utilize the LCD's capabilities, the best is to get a better gc.... |

QUOTE(Matrix @ Oct 17 2008, 11:04 AM) Text looks great at native resolution. Suprisingly, even at 1080i, the text is pretty good also and not as bad as expected when running at non-native res. If wanna do word processing, better set it to native if not, u onli stress ur eyes.... I'm also using LCD TV at the moment....Anyhow....i'm not doing Word or Excel on my Aquos.....haven't try surfing the web at 1080i though...will try later. Also a good graphic card helps...my old HTPC (XP MCE) with an AGP 6200 looks quite horrible compared to my ATI 4850 (VISTA) on the Aquos. |
