QUOTE(pakhusin @ Feb 1 2009, 11:48 PM) kalau offline, baik beli peta.. hahaha... gurau je... afaik, this phone cannot use GPS for free.. some people so rajin, download images from computer, then use as a map. that one still consider GPS?? Added on February 2, 2009, 1:06 amgot sell protective film for this phone? how much is the high quality one? As it has been mentioned everywhere, this phone can use GPS for free with Trekbuddy, a j2me GPS software that uses offline map. However, the maps for Malaysia can hardly be found, if you take the time to convert Garmin's map to Trekbuddy(not easy as far as I know) then you get free GPS.

QUOTE(pakhusin @ Feb 9 2009, 07:24 PM) i want to ask, is there really any different when taking pictures; 1. press half way (to focus), then press down completely 2. press middle button (round button that has blue lit ring) cos i see no difference at all. if press the middle button, seem the camera do autofocus for us first, then take picture instantly.. I am no photographing expert but here's my explantion: Pressing halfway is the manual focusing you use for things that is hard to be autofucused, eg: when autofocus keep giving you blurry pictures, try to manually focus by pressing halfway on another easier to focus object in the same distance, when the focus box turns green and your phone beeps, go back to the object you want to snap ealier and press down all the way. Just a note though, this requires very steady hands. This post has been edited by Kellicros: Feb 10 2009, 06:40 PM

QUOTE(Mr.LKM @ Feb 10 2009, 09:11 PM) Hey bro, you're talking about autofocus. No matter you press all the way down or press halfway, the camera auto-focuses the object. By using the manual focus, you have the ability to choose what focus you want ranging from nearest {according to the spec} to infinity. Oh, maybe i used the wrong phrase, but i was explaining how the key pressing works, or how i have been using it anyway, I think it is only necessary in macro mode. Comsat is quite reliable.
The IMEI code does not matter.
You can try updating it the normal way, if it doesn't detect the latest firmware, you need to do a bit of hacking on the CDA.

QUOTE(monkeyrun @ Feb 17 2009, 02:46 AM) Yo, add me to the speed black list please Visited Lowyat four times and finally bought an AP speed black today for rm730 with screen protector and 256 M2 card. Here's a few questions: Its distributor is ComSat, is it reliable? The 7th number of the IMEI code is 02, does it matter? I hope i can update the firmware myself though it's an AP set, if not, how should I update it? The firmware is still 3BXXX25, heard the latest is 3DXXX29? Confusing.... Still charging it now, will find out tmr, experienced owners please give me a hand XD Check your CDA number instead of IMEI(the codes that show up when you are upgrading your phoneware), you need a ASEAN reign CDA code to have both chinese and english language on your phone, I used 1201-0176 CDA code, and it has all south east asian languages. Google your way on how to hack it, it is quite easy if you know what you're doing. Don't bother the box, as long as the phone's IMEI is recorded on your receipt, which is used for warranty. 1201-0176 R12A Thats the CDA code, and 1201-0176 only has Simplified chinese, you will have to look for another cda code to get traditional chinese, not sure where to find one though, try googling. Try these, you'll need a2uploade to change your cda, good luck. » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « 1207-6802 HONG-KONG 1207-4183 TAIWAN 1207-5757 CHINA 1206-8573 WESTERN-EUROPE 1207-3925 FRANCE 1207-3943 NORDIC 1207-3951 NORDIC 1207-4216 CENTRAL-EUROPE 1207-4223 WESTERN-EUROPE 1207-4408 WESTERN-EUROPE 1208-1629 CENTRAL-EUROPE 1208-1639 CENTRAL-EUROPE 1208-3090 T-MOB-INT 1208-5132 ORANGE-SIGN 1208-5136 ORANGE-SIGN 1208-6116 HUTCH-WORLD 1208-6123 TELEFONICA-UK 1208-6126 TELEFONICA-UK 1210-3997 CENTRAL-EUROPE 1210-4589 CENTRAL-EUROPE

QUOTE(monkeyrun @ Mar 1 2009, 01:38 AM) Thanks for sharing, but how do you install the cam drive? Plus, if I find a CDA online, how do I install that into my phone? Thanks again for all the info =D You will need A2uploader to flash the files into your phone, I have attached the file to change CDA, edit it with notepad and replace the CDA code on it, then flash it to your phone's directory /tpa/preset/custom/ with A2uploader. Just sharing, becareful cause flashing may brick your phone so do it at your own risk. Attached File(s)
