afaik, this phone cannot use GPS for free..

some people so rajin, download images from computer, then use as a map.

As it has been mentioned everywhere, this phone can use GPS for free with Trekbuddy, a j2me GPS software that uses offline map. However, the maps for Malaysia can hardly be found, if you take the time to convert Garmin's map to Trekbuddy(not easy as far as I know) then you get free GPS.

I am no photographing expert but here's my explantion:

Pressing halfway is the manual focusing you use for things that is hard to be autofucused, eg: when autofocus keep giving you blurry pictures, try to manually focus by pressing halfway on another easier to focus object in the same distance, when the focus box turns green and your phone beeps, go back to the object you want to snap ealier and press down all the way. Just a note though, this requires very steady hands. tongue.gif

Oh, maybe i used the wrong phrase, but i was explaining how the key pressing works, or how i have been using it anyway, I think it is only necessary in macro mode.

Comsat is quite reliable.

The IMEI code does not matter.

You can try updating it the normal way, if it doesn't detect the latest firmware, you need to do a bit of hacking on the CDA.

Check your CDA number instead of IMEI(the codes that show up when you are upgrading your phoneware), you need a ASEAN reign CDA code to have both chinese and english language on your phone, I used 1201-0176 CDA code, and it has all south east asian languages. Google your way on how to hack it, it is quite easy if you know what you're doing.

Don't bother the box, as long as the phone's IMEI is recorded on your receipt, which is used for warranty.

Thats the CDA code, and 1201-0176 only has Simplified chinese, you will have to look for another cda code to get traditional chinese, not sure where to find one though, try googling.

Try these, you'll need a2uploade to change your cda, good luck.

You will need A2uploader to flash the files into your phone,

I have attached the file to change CDA, edit it with notepad and replace the CDA code on it, then flash it to your phone's directory /tpa/preset/custom/ with A2uploader.

Just sharing, becareful cause flashing may brick your phone so do it at your own risk. smile.gif

Just noticed a bug in R3DA032 but not sure if it is just me, new unread sms won't show up in inbox accessed with shortcut keys, this is weird. :S

my phone used to always hangs and restart when it was on the manufacturer firmware R3BA030(if I remember correctly), no more problems after updated to R3DA029 and newer.

Good stuff, Google Maps now loading damn fast on my phone! But it is kind of useless since you need a computer to begin with...
