We played reasonably. It was always going to be a tough game against Racing.

If last season we lost Sneijder, Gago and Guti through injury I would have been very worried. This time ard though I'm kinda calm abt it. For all the criticism of our transfer activity during the summer I am actually quite pleased with the amt of depth we have in midfield now.

I thought Raul did ok. He worked hard and did what he had to do given the circumstances. And to be fair most of our attacking players were very quiet until Higuain pulled of that moment of magic. If RVN didn't score he would have had a poorer game . So we shd drop him then?
And I'm not really concerned what Barca do anyway. Heck will they even be our closest challengers?

RVN has pace? That's a first . Look I'm not suggesting he shd be dropped. All I'm saying is the criticism of Raul by the media and some quarters have been unfair. It's just like 3 yrs ago when he was unfairly criticised then as well. He played as a left side AM the last game; he did his fair share of defensive duties and he still linked up well with the other players. He played well in my book. It's always easy to dismiss players who do the donkey work sometimes.

Anybody watching the match? We're 1-0 up. Heinze with the header from a FK. The commentator is extremely boring though.

Well commentator aside I think we played pretty well in that half. We dropped off abit in the closing stages but defensively we have been very organised.

We played like crap in the 2nd half mainly because we were down to 10 men. But again we showed alot of resilience in the face of adversity.

And Barca getting help from the ref to win again. And very classy of their supporters to launch flares at the home crowd. As their motto goes I guess, they are more than just a club afterall

Our first tough test tonite. On paper it looks like it's gonna be a real cracker. It will be an early kickoff because we're playing in Russia so the timing should be more accomodating . I've checked Astro's listings and they will show it live on Starsports which is good news for us.
