Sawadikap, I'm Nick (A Thai Amulets Collector). I am helping my friends to 'rent' out some Thai Amulets. All the amulets are 100% guarantee genuine and direct from Luang Phor/ Kruba / Archan / Lersi/ Temple. If you are interested with any of the amulets, please contact or sms
Nick +6017-3989 238. (I will reply you as soon)

Phra Lersi Pok Gae from Wat Bang Phra (Luang Phor Pern's Temple), Nakhon Pathom Province.

This Phra Lersi Pok Gae is from Luang Phor Pern Temple. Behind of this amulet insert with a bronze trakut with special spell.

Phra Lersi are Indian hermits who are credited to be the founders and patron saints of various professions like doctors, religious tattooists, white magic practitioners, herbalists and many others.

There are a total of 108 sacred hermits who are recognised by name and many others who are not. Most often than not, all 108 of the hermits are represented by a generic image of a wisely old man wearing a conical hat and tiger skin robes but there are also specific images who represent specific Phra Lersi.

In Indian mythology, Phra Lersi received worldly knowledge from the gods and taught these knowledges to men. Thus, these Phra Lersi are also the masters of knowledge and are frequently worshipped by students and people in academic pursuits.

As Phra Lersi are also credited to be the founders of the Thai magical arts, they feature prominently on the altars of magical practitioners in Thailand and are invoked in rituals.

By carrying with oneself the images of Phra Lersi, one can be protected from all forms of black magic and evil spirits as well. Students are also recommended to wear his image as he is able to aid one in studies and knowledgeable pursuits.

Thanks for people who support us. This amulet has been 'rent' out.

Sawadikap, this is General Khun Paen from Wat Bangkrang, Supahnburi. 56 years old (in buddha calendar B.E. 2495), very rare and old amulet. The back of the amulet got the chop of Wat Bangkrang. For your information, Wat Bangkrang/ Wat Bahn Krang is the pioneer temple who made Khun Paen amulets.

General Khun Paen

Legendary Khun Paen lived between 1491-1529. He is the legendary Ayuthaya warrior living some 450 years ago. His name later became the name of a kind of votive tablets found at Wat Bangkrang, Suphanburi Province, about a century ago. Khun paen was born in Suphanburi Province (some 70 km. northwest of Bangkok) but grew up in the close bordered Kanchanaburi Province, where the world wide well-known "Bridge over River Kwai" situated.

He was a disciple of Archan Kong, a magic-expert guru monk, for magical studies. By his skillful fighting, he was appointed by the king to be Khun or a high ranking military officer.
His biography was far more extended and rather a story by poetic authors of the early Rattanakosin period.

According to some comments and reviews by the archans, monks and local Thai people, khun paen amulet generally is best for :
1) Able to naturally attract the opposite sex.
2) Get to be liked, trusted, respected and admired by everyone.
3) Get to develop indestructible confidence and courage.
4) Easiler to ask for favour and help.
5) Gain the "upper hand" in business or career.
6) Sucessful in everything that your do.
7) Great luck and great charm.
8) Victories in all aspects of lifes.
and much much more....

This year is 2008 (in buddha calendar B.E. 2551).

The Legend of Jatukam Ramathep

Once upon a time, many centuries ago (about 1700 years ago), it was a time of war and trouble. There lived a king and his princes in Central Siam. The elder prince named Jatukam and the other named Ramathep. After many years of war, the King finally conquered and managed to secure Sri Lanka into part of his Kingdom. There was a saying that the King possessed a sacred treasure, this was none other than the holy relics of Lord Buddha. Before the King began his journey to the newly conquered land, he tasked the protection of the relics to his two princes, & ordered them to guard it with their lives.

Some time later, the princes received information of plan by their enemies to capture the relics. They immediately informed the King in Sri Lanka. The King instruction was to quickly take the relics away by sea and head to Sri Lanka. Halfway through the journey, a thunderstorm struck and their ships were sunken. Except the two princes, the rest of the crew did not survive.

The two princes were washed ashore, but well. Without the sea transport, they could no longer bring the relics to Sri Lanka. They started praying sincerely to the relics, saying: “Dear Enlightened One! If this land we step upon is a holy piece of land, then please guide us let us live a new life here. With our people, we shall guard and protected your relics forever.”

Later the two princes built a temple on this holy land and with much hard work, they also establish a wealthy and strong city. They brought new hope and peace to all the people. In remembrance of the great deeds by the two princes, they named this place Nakhon Si Thammarat in their honour. This is now located in Southern Thailand at the present time. The temple that the two princes built for the relics is called Wat Mahathat - as it is known now.

Ever since then, after a few centuries, many people had travelled to Wat Mahathat to locate the relics that were buried by the princes. Finally, they found a stone carving and the relics buried at the Wat. The stories of the two princes were found engraved on this stone.

The two princes had done many great deeds and the greatest is by erecting the temple to house the relics. And they promised to guard the Relics with their lives. They had earned respect from both the heavenly and earthly beings. Later, the people combined the two princes into one and named him Tao Jatukam Ramathep when praying to him. Tao Jatukam Ramathep becomes one of the most respected and popular deities in the South of Thailand. In olden days, Tao was used to address noble ones. It is believed that those that pray to Tao Jatukam Ramathep will be blessed with fulfilling life and better in all aspects in everyday work.

Wat Phra Mahathat

The temple is located on Ratchadamnoen Road in Tambon Nai Muang, Amphue Meuang of Nakhon Si Thammarat province. This is one of the most important historical sites in Southern Thailand. The stupa, 55.78m high, has a distinctive Sri Lankan style. The top of the spire is entirely covered in pure gold. Inside the temple are many buildings of importance, especially the royal building which has beautiful architecture from the Ayutthaya period and the Sam Chom building, where the Buddha image garbed in royal attire - Phra Si Thamma Sokarat is housed. There are also the Phra Maha Phinetkrom (the equestrian image) building and the Thap Kaset building; while the Khian and Pho Lanka buildings are used to display artifacts donated to the temple by Buddhists from the whole region.

Over the doorway at the entrance of Wat Phra Mahathat in Nakhon Si Thammarat, there are the statutes of Tao Kadtukam and Tao Ramathep, the guardian deities of holy relics of the Buddha. The name of one deity is Tao Kadtukam, which later people understand that he is none other than Jatukam.

There are many stories on how the City Pillar (Lak Meuang) and the first Jatukam amulets were made. One story tells of Police Maj Gen Sanpetch Thammikun, the provincial police chief during the 1980s, going to Wat Nang Phraya during a shamanistic ritual. The medium, a woman, told the policeman to come back. When he did come back later the woman wasn't there, but had been replaced by a new medium claiming to be the spirit of the military leader for the B.E. 17th century Nakhon Si Thammarat king.

The back of the Jatukam Ramathep amulet got:-

The 12 zodiac animals - Rat, Ox, Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Sheep, Monkey, Rooster, Dog, and Pig.

The amulet's temple and rahu.

Rahu
In Hindu mythology, Rahu is a snake that swallows the sun or the moon causing eclipses. He is depicted in art as a dragon with no body riding a chariot drawn by eight black horses. Rahu is one of the navagrahas (nine planets) in Vedic astrology. The rahu kala is considered inauspicious.

According to legend, during the Samudra manthan, the asura Rahu drank some of the divine nectar. But before the nectar could pass his throat, Mohini (the female avatar of Vishnu) cut off his head. The head, however, remained immortal. It is believed that this immortal head occasionally swallows the sun or the moon, causing eclipses. Then, the sun or moon passes through the opening at the neck, ending the eclipse.

Astronomically, Rahu and Ketu denotes the two points of intersection of the paths of the Sun and the Moon as they move on the celestial sphere. Therefore, Rahu and Ketu are respectively called the north and the south lunar nodes. The fact that Eclipses occur when Sun and Moon are at one of these points gives rise to the myth of the swallowing of the Sun.

In Buddhism Rahu is one of the krodhadevatas (terror-inspiring gods).

Myth of Shiva and Rahu
There is another lila of Shiva and Rahu probably taken from Shiva Purana which is paraphrased by Joseph Campbell in his book The Power of Myth. Ganna Chakra also paraphrases this myth:

In the myth of the Daitya king Jalandhara, Jalandhara sends Rahu with a message to Shiva, demanding that he surrender Parvati to Jalandhara. Shiva was angry at this message, and this anger took the form of a terrible creature which sprang from his brow. It had the face of a lion, flaming eyes, a body which was dry and rough to the touch, long arms and a tongue which lolled with anger. The creature rushed at Rahu, ready to devour him. Shiva apparently said something along the lines of "we don't shoot the messenger" whereon the gana pleaded to Shiva that it was tortured by hunger. Shiva told the gana that if it were so hungry, it should eat its own flesh. This the gana did, until only its head was left. Shiva, pleased with such devotion, appointed the gana as his door-keeper, ordering that it create terror for all wicked people. Shiva also ordained that the gana be worshipped along with his worship, and gave it the name Kirtimukha.

Astrology

In Vedic astrology Rahu is seen as an asura or demon who does his best to plunge any area of life he controls into chaos, mystery and cruelty. He is associated with the world of material manifestation and worldy desire; and random, uncontrolled growth without wisdom or understanding. Rahu is a karaka or indicator of worldly fame, greed, high intelligence, manipulation, obsessive behaviour, foreigners, mass disease, dementia and inertia. However, if used the right way, Rahu can be instrumental in strengthening a person's power and converting even the strongest enemy into a friend.

Rahu is lord of three nakshatras or lunar mansions: Ardra, Svati and Shatabhisha or Shatataraka. Rahu is associated with the following: its color is smoky, metal is lead and gemstone is honey colored hessonite. Its element is air and direction is south-west.

In the science of astrology Rahu and ketu are the two intersection points of paths of Earth and Moons travel.

Buddhism
A Tibetian depiction of Rahu (Rahula) with 9 heads and a face in his belly, the mouth of which swallows up the moon or sun during eclipses

Rahu is mentioned explicitly in a pair of scriptures from the Samyutta Nikaya of the Pali Canon. In the Candima Sutta and the Suriya Sutta, Rahu attacks Chandra, the moon deity and Suriya, the sun deity, before being compelled to release them by their recitation of a brief stanza conveying their reverence for the Buddha. The Buddha responds by enjoining Rahu to release them, which Rahu does rather than have his "head split into seven pieces". The verses recited by the two celestial deities and the Buddha have since been incorporated into Buddhist liturgy as protective verses (paritta) recited by monks as prayers of protection.
