Shan Tang (善) rian blessed by Phor Than Klai (金口和尚) from Wat Suan Kan, Nakhon Sri Thamarat. B.E. 2505 (year: 1962)

This batch of 'Shan Tang' medallion B.E. 2505 was give away to every donors during the 4th anniversary of Shan Tang Society. Shan Tang Society “善堂” is a well known charity house in Thailand. For an example: They use to ask people to donate a coffin the people which is poor or without family members. They do a lots of charity works to help up the poor peoples. Luang Phor Klai(Phor Than Klai) from Wat Suan Kan, Nakhon Sri Thamarat was invited to do blessing on this batch of medallion amulets. This batch of 'Shan Tang' medallion B.E. 2505 is very well known and good for collection.

Luang Phor Kasem rian, Lampang Province. B.E. 2523 (year: 1980)


Widely known to people that Luang Phor Kasem's amulets are great for Metta and Safety Protection. Luang Phor Kasem is a very famous Guru monk contemporary with Luang Pu Tim, Wat LaharnRai and Luang Phor Phrom, Wat Chong Kae. Luang Phor Kasem practiced and attained ultra Dhamma state. He passed away in B.E. 2539 with the age of 84.

Phra Kring made from Wat Suthat chanted by Luang Phor Kasem (B.E. 2538).

There have been many different beliefs about the Phra Kring amulet and why it was created. Historically it is believed that it was created for the purpose of making merit.

Firstly that the Kring is a symbol of the Buddha’s condition whose qualification is Anathi, non-self does not appear at the beginning nor at the end, so it turns to be a round seed. Secondly, the common belief that hearing the ring from the Phra Kring amulet can bring Good Luck, Good Fortune and Healthy, possibly the very reason for its unique design. The degree of good luck would depend on the number of times that the Kring was shaken.

Essentially the Phra Kring amulet and the round seed contained inside differentiated it from other amulets in that they were specifically designed to bring about mindfulness to creators and possessors, to make them think of the gratitude of the Buddha, the Buddha’s kindness including the ultimate truth that is the highest level of Buddhism. Another objective is to make them think of a number of important characteristics of the Buddha, impermanence, suffering, and non-self. The round seed inside the amulet emphasizes “non-self” as mentioned above.
