The PhysX driver only works on G92 and GTX-200 chips for now.
Yes, you can install it but it won't work.
After installing this, you'll notice a very very big jump in 3DMark Vantage CPU score because the Physics Test will be using the GPU which is a lot faster. (Performance difference can already be seen when running Folding@Home)

G80, G92, G94 and GTX200 supports PhysX CUDA. It's just that the driver is not ready yet.
Nice jump in score there. 16K CPU score to 44K CPU score. This will promote the use of SLI even more since we can use 1 card as physics processor and another to display the graphic.

QUOTE(ikanayam @ Jun 21 2008, 01:48 AM) Right now my question is, does it work outside of 3dmark, and what kind of performance hit to the graphics portion of a game would it cause. It's hard to say whether running both physics and gfx on the GPU simultaneously would be a net gain. There will be a performance hit because the graphic card will have to render more effects and calculates the physics. This will be useful for those games that are limited by processors.

You mean you can't install the driver?
NVIDIA GeForce 177.39 will only install (On default) on these graphic cards:- - GeForce GTX 280 - GeForce GTX 260 - GeForce 9800GTX
To use it on other cards, you'll need to modify the .inf file in the driver.
EDIT: You'll need PhysX driver version 8.06.12 to get the PhysX to work.

The driver is very stable for me. Using Vista32. I can't use the PhysX though, since mine is a G94.

Yea, I'm curious to know it too since 3DMark06 has AGEIA PhysX support.

QUOTE(SpikeTwo @ Jun 21 2008, 08:28 PM) the problem now is...can the card does 2 jobs simultaneously? will there be performance hit if we use the card to render physics (with resource hogging graphics)? there's no fully supported games as of now. AFAIK, currently only 3DMark Vantage and UT3 supports this PhysX module. Not really sure if GRAW supports this too. Anyone willing to try?

QUOTE(jinaun @ Jun 23 2008, 12:32 AM) you can have 1 nvidia card to render and another to do physics of coz with the latest 177 drivers and the 8.06 physx Hohoho, this is where multi-GPU comes in. It'd be better if NVIDIA provides support for SLI-ing 2 different graphic cards. This post has been edited by Demonic Wrath: Jun 23 2008, 01:01 AM

QUOTE(SlayerXT @ Jun 23 2008, 02:43 AM) Is current software and driver literally support the 8/9 series? Im gonna try Currently the PhysX Driver 8.06 only supports these GPUs:- # 8800GTS (G92) # 8800GT (G92) # 9800GTX (G92) # GTX 260 (GT200) # GTX 280 (GT200) # All GPUs based on G92 chips Future support will be added for other cards that is CUDA-capable. The NVIDIA GeForce 177.35 and newer already supports CUDA for other GPUs. It's just that the PhysX driver does not support those GPUs. Yes, PhysX supports 8800GT. You can give it a try.
Currently, it only works for 3DMark Vantage and UT3 PhysX maps. Other games such as CellFactor still requires AGEIA PPU to enable physics. This will likely be supported in the future.

You must download the PhysX driver version 8.06.12. Older version won't be able to detect NVIDIA GPUs.

QUOTE(hafiez @ Jun 23 2008, 12:24 PM) I've dowloaded 8.06.25. the latest 1 is it? As far as I know, PhysX Driver 8.06.12 is the latest version. You can't download it from NVIDIA website. QUOTE(stevenlys @ Jun 23 2008, 03:16 PM) Is 9800GX2 ready support for PhysX ? Yes. Install a driver that supports CUDA and also the PhysX Driver.

What's your graphic card? You can install the new driver provided you modify the driver inf.
For more information, check the GeForce 177.35 thread in the Latest Update [Software section]. I've written a guide on how to modify the driver inf.

QUOTE(SeaMonster @ Jun 23 2008, 06:38 PM) 177.3X Can't Support 9800Gx2 Using 175.16 Nia.. So I Installed PhysX Also Useless Right? 175.16 should work since it supports CUDA. No harm installing the Physx driver. Just try it.

Modifying the inf file does not work. The NVIDIA GeForce drivers already support but the PhysX driver does not support 9600GT yet.

QUOTE(D-Zire @ Jun 24 2008, 10:04 AM) so if i install the forceware driver now and dun installl physx then thee effect is still same like using older driver right? Yes, it won't have PhysX support. There's not much software utilizing GeForce PhysX yet. Only 3DMarkVantage and UT3 PhysX maps are supported as of now. QUOTE(SeaMonster @ Jun 24 2008, 10:37 AM) I'm not really sure as I don't have a G92 or GT200 GPU now. So, I can't tell if it works or not. Why don't you install NVIDIA GeForce 177.35? It increases performance in a lot of games.

There's already a few forumers doing that. It won't modify your O/S file system.

Are you getting "System is not modified" when it asks you to reboot? If yes, then download the driver again from here:- http://www.laptopvideo2go.com/forum/index....showtopic=19109
