I suggest an Ibanez Tube Screamer or the Malaysian favourite (seriously, every guitarist in Malaysia seems to have one) - the Boss Metalzone. Enough tweaking could get you a decent 80s lead tone/sound.

As for getting a Marshall, you probably wouldn't be able to enjoy it. Getting a decent tone out of your stack with a volume set at a "neighbour friendly" volume? I don't think so.

Unless you are a serious gear collector, a tone hound or a gigging/recording musician, a tube stack/halfstack is just a waste*.









*It is however, not a waste if you let fellow forum members use it. I have a basement and rock-loving neighbours. you can store your stack here!
