Haha.. everyone is so happy with E71! I won't be so desperate to look for a new phone if my N82 wasn't left in the toilet and took by someone in SG. What the...

Anyway, how do you rate the multimedia function?

the multimedia feature is pretty ok. the preinstalled programmes are quite up to par. the built-in video and audio player is ok too. but i think thats not a worry to u, as there are so many software outside for u to play around with.

multimedia functions may not be as good as the Nseries, the Eseries is more business oriented. However, its not too bad in that department.

Camera - 6/10 (reason being is if you tweak the settings the pictures are decent. we're talking bright environments here, low-light is bad as with other cameraphones, with some like the N82 being an exception)

Music - 7/10 (sound quality is nice with a 2.5 to 3.5mm headphone adapter, you can tweak the sound with the equalizer, has playlist options, easy to search for music, etc)

Video - havent played any, so I cant say, but the screen is small for video playback

Gaming - 5/10 (there are some very nice games out there, but some games may not look good due to screen size and res. You can modufy your phone to install ngage games, but i dont really game much on my phone. Also, the E71 lacks hardware acceleration so graphics arent that pretty compared to the high-end Nseries phones.

I normally like multimedia oriented phones, but I value the calender, internet and certain features more, so I decided to get teh Eseries, as far as gaming goes I would be happy with a good laptop, I dont have time to be honest.

I used to have a LG Viewty with a nice 3" touchscreen and the video playback is really good, but I realised that I only play those videos to show my friends who good they are on the phone and not actually watch them.

I do listen to music very very often on the phone and although it cant beat the iphone in this department, i think its sufficient enough for me, just need to get the headphone adapter like i mentioned.

As far as the camera is concerned, i wish it was better, my LG Viewty took nice photos, but I dont use the camera so much, so I can make the sacrifice.

The best thing about this phone is how slim it is, how nice it feels in your hand and how sexy it looks, people keep staring at it smile.gif Its also very fast and responsive.

Hi guys,

Just got an E71 last week.
Everything is fine except that I occasionally get a "dead" screen while tryin 2 lock the phone.

The screen freezes, and if you press the Menu key, it will jst stay frozen at the main screen.
Anyone has this problem?

Also if I access the menu, and quickly scroll left to "Media", it will tend to bouce back to "Tools".

Any ideas how 2 solve it?

My 2 cents, re-install/re-flash the firmware via your dealer, it could be a corrupted installation.

I really appreciate your worthy review! I think the music experience can be further enhanced by using Fiio Headphone Amp.

Does E71 support RMVB and AVI for video playback?

I'm quite poisoned now and I may get a Panasonic Lumix LX3 to compensate the weak camera of this phone.

thanks pxd,

how long u reckon this takes?
And if i'm gonna flash it, i might as well not transfer my phonebook jst yet.
i'm jst wondering if its better to take it to the dealer i bought it from or Nokia itself since i'm having an avaxx set.

Secondly, my GPS takes awufully long to get a lock-on.
like more than 10mins i think..

anyone facing the same problem?

Better, if it is AVAXX set, you should show the crew there what happened.
It shall be roughly around 1 hour for what I've been, was facing firmware problem the first time I bought mine.

GPS lock-on speed-up needs the following to be meet:
1. Static, not moving (yeah, you need to stay still, ha ha ha.)
2. A-GPS on (costly at times)
3. Clear sky (preferably)

It can be as fast as 10seconds or as slow as never depends on individual condition.

most probably end of this week lo, but if too much people ordering i would push for a 5th bulk then. But with the performance now, it is highly unlikely la brader.
