and btw the bolded part...i beg to differ.

i have driven both Vios(my bro car) and SEG. SEG was quite stable even when u cruising
at 160kmh...while Vios around 140 u can feel the 'sampan' sensation already biggrin.gif

I drove both cars and it will depend on the tyres. Of coz the wobbling feel will get worse if u stick with the stock 14 inch rims from Vios E n J models. Yet again, chassis wise, the Corolla SEG is much convincing to speed above 140 kmh.

comparing stock to stock (or even modified) the SEG wins hands down in every category except for FC. stock SEG chassis can easily corner 90 degree turn at 100 kmph (yup, done that) because originally it's tuned to handle high rev high powered engine. 100kmph in the same corner with the vios has a high chance of under steering right off or even worst

i am here to seek advise from forum members here who have driven or experience about this car before .
how reliable is this car , is the FC good ? i know it is old but i do have interest to know bits about this car .

what is the second hand car value of this car , around 1993-1994 age .
*
Reliable yes...but engine may experience overheating
fc is good...didnt really count last time... should be about 9-11km a liter

own one last time...sold at 15k in 2012

I'm gonna disagree on this also.

Have driven both stock 1st gen (E spec) and a couple of 2nd gen 'dugong' (G spec) on highway but still compared to my stock 00' 1.3 Corolla and ex-97' 1.6 SEG, I'm still convinced that Corolla's chassis is more planted. Vios rear end tends to kick-out when u get too excited in d corners too no thanks to d torsion beam.

D only reason Vios would probably feel more powerful is d pickup 'feel' (probably power to weight, power band n gear ratios), but it gets out of tune above 80km/h. One possible main reason Vios is more common on d racing arena is coz its new. Dun forget tat d older d car gets d less upgrade aftermarket parts becomes unless its really a worth making, eg. Hondas EGs & EKs.

still driving one...

heavy and good handling.

to me, maintenance is considered high.. cant find good technician around me and spare part no longer available (except potong one). thinking of giving up on it now.

You serious? Some mechanics are even looking for this car. What kind of spare parts that is hard for you to find? hmm.gif

Btw necro thread!

maintenance considered high?

i disagree. I own both this car and first model Iswara. The corolla parts(compare OEM vs OEM) are just a little bit expansive..but not by much

stock/new taiwan spareparts are also quite easy to get(esp on Toyota sparepart genuine dealer). Maybe the price in ur place are quite high due to unavailability
of the said parts

used to drive this car. my ex owns it before selling it off to someone.

whole car stock with silvertop. easily touch 180. solid chassis good power good aircond. well maintained. just need adjustable and better tyres (on her car)

i once skidded during a rain at the corner. manage to control it to skid out of the highway into a junction, hitting the soft red thing before the metal highway divider. burst 2 tires.

i still love this car, one of the first few cars i've driven.
