Guys, I'm a Penangite here & I would like to give skateboarding a try. Unfortunately, I've Google'd around but apparently, there's no skateboard shop in Penang. I know there're a few guys here from Penang & just wanna know where can I get myself a board.

Or perhaps if you have an extra / old skateboard that you wanna sell, we might be able to COD. smile.gif

Thanks for the links. I'll check them out when I go down to KL / Selangor. I'm much more concerned with the lack of shops here since it's going to be troublesome if I need to have the board serviced... I mean in case something goes wrong with the truck or wheels.

There's a mini skatepark in Youth Park & I've seen a few youths played there before. Guess I've gotta go over & ask them for any hidden shops. biggrin.gif

Hi ejat, I managed to locate a shop selling skateboard in Penang. I've yet to pay it a visit but it's just opened early this year. Perhaps can you update the information in the first page to help Penangites in getting their skateboard merchandise? smile.gif

I browsed through their blog & it appears that they're selling Jart Skateboards. Anyone got reviews or opinions about this brand? unsure.gif

I just went to the shop just now & they don't have complete skateboard for sale. The cheapest they quote me for was around RM500+ which is totally out of my budget. sad.gif

anyone looking for a skateboard?
I'm initially interested in the playing style of longboard but I have wrongly bought a skateboard so I'm thinking of selling it off to someone interested.
It is new at this moment

please inbox me if u r interested

I think you stand a better chance if you at least post some spec or photos instead.

Bump this thread.
My son started playing skateboard just 2 months ago. He showed some interest but I was hesistant because I see skateboarding as a dangerous hobby that could lead to grave injuries.

I still bought him a cheap skateboard online just to see if its just a short interest. Now his elder brother is also joining him and the kids in my housing area have started playing too.

The cheap skateboard works fine, but I would like to get him a proper one this time. However, I have zero clue on how or where to pick a decent deck. I hate to throw money so I'd appreciate if anyone could share some tips on buying a beginner's deck that won't hurt the wallet.

Get one from Decathlon. They're decent enough for kids level & don't burn a hole in your pocket.

I've been to Decathlon sometime ago. The strut and the wheels looked good, but the deck is difficult to know for sure.
Perhaps its worth for me to check it out again when I have the time. I'm based in johor, and we don't have any decathlon branch yet over here.

Yea, IINM Decathlon should have some samples for you to test out; just make sure your kids are in the right shoes. I'm from Penang so our fate are alike with the nearest Decathlon hours away.

I bought my son SkateXS all the way from the US since he showed so much interest. Had to ask a friend who's flying over to hand carry it back here. Now it's just collecting dust in the cabinet. doh.gif
