Ok guys...

Things are finally coming to a conclusion...

I've decided on my setup (as below)...

Please feel free to let me know whether I've made the right choice...

Head Unit : Kenwood KDC-5039U
Front Component Speakers : KFC-507P
Rear Speakers : KFC-6990IE

Amp will be future project. Haha...no money...

The total cost for the above should be about RM1k (including installation)...

Am I making the right choice?

It'd be nice if you showed some manners and asked politely before you hijacked someone's thread...

But oh well...

Just that the attention is drawn to his question...and my question would receive less help...

And I would be / am confused about whether people are replying to my post or his...

But it's alright...smile.gif

Haha thanks man.

I asked for a quotation from howie, but he says the speakers are fake, and that he doesn't sell them...

But the Kenwood website has them rclxub.gif

They can make exactly the same one.

Looks the same, box same, only material used different.

Oh I see.

So the reason howie might not be selling them is because there's a high chance that those in the market are fake? shocking.gif

Ya, planning to go see him this weekend...

Although the shop a bit far, haha...

By the way, does Brothers sell fake speakers and HUs??

They are such a big shop, yet they would resort to selling fake items? The reason why I had originally wanted the above items (all of which are Kenwood), is because the seller there recommended to me. But they could be fake items? I doubt they would do something like that to ruin their reputation right???

well... demand for cheaper ones from the masses and frankly, i seldom see real ICE players will go to kedai abang.

big shop doesnt mean they cant sell replicas. but to be frank, can you tell the differences between the original and the replica if you dont have that question in your mind?

Well, I wouldn't say that I'm a real ICE player. This is the first time I'm installing ICE. So I went to Brothers to have a look, coz I thought it was big / well known.

I guess the only way I would be able to tell original and fake is when it's installed...and I get to hear the sound...

But then, if fake and ori have same sound, then I don't know... rclxub.gif

which is why you want recommendation and post a topic here smile.gif
try to be aware of the thing u want to buy. if you want a piece of mind, go for authorized dealers only. if that dealer also sell to you replicas, at least you have the proof. smile.gif

Anyone know if the Alpine 9884e head unit is good? Roughly how much is the market price nowadays?

Thanks smile.gif
