a second hand touch pro fits the bill properly. make sure there's still warranty left JUST IN CASE previous owner manhandled his device and the keyboard needs recalibrating (like u have to press very very hard for letter to come out). its covered under warranty.

U can also get the Xperia. longer but the screen has less width. specs same with pro in every sense

oh but its 3.2mp.

alternative is Touch Diamond 2, second hand around 2k, but battery is smaller, no qwerty, but 5mp.

Thanks for the recommendation... sounds like all r quite high spec (when it first released)

Im quite interested in xperia when it first released last year.. but a slight sceptical since Sony Ericsson seldom release WM phone b4 compare to HTC. bside it was nearly 3k when i it came out... how much will it cost now?

Actually i hv done some research (poisoning activity)... n starting to get a bit addicted to the HTC touch pro 2 whistling.gif (i know tats below my budget... but now really considering to break it unsure.gif )

I have a friend selling hp. I ask him bout HTc pro2 n he seems to b very Against it...saying that many ppl oredi sold it secondhand...cause device easily hang.... (I THOUGHT IT HAS JUST BEEN RELEASED NOT LONG AGO?)

Of course i think is base on personal preferences... i think is quite acceptable for a device which can hv lots of flexibility like WM to get a bit ..overloaded smtime... He might not change my mind to go for a nokia... cause im just a WM lover. He said that secondhand HTC touch pro 2 can get for 1.2k ++ (unbelieveable? i don believe..... is this possible? unless d device got damage sweat.gif ?)

As for Touch Diamond 2... no qwerty is a turn down... after i 4 years without keypad.. i feel like wanna get a feel of "typing messages" on real thing.

your friend is one stupid handphone seller who thinks knowledge of mobile phone market, is the same as windows mobile.

lots of windows mobile users are newbies from other devices thinking of just trying Win Mo out. they do not pimp, they do not tweak, they do not restart once a day. They run many software and games at the same time and dont know the X button means minimise not close, and when the phone lag cuz too many stuff on, they say win mo sucks. makes me wanna slap them.

2nd hand diamond can get less than 1k, price warying depending condition and warranty

Agree. I'm newbie in WinMo but after doing some research on tweaking n how to use it properly, i kind of like it. Now i get used to it already n there's no way I revert back to the standard + boring phone.

Touch Pro, TP2, TD2. Depending on what your dad does for a living. If he's a businessman, get him one with a QWERTY, as it'll be easier for him to type data or reply emails etc.

HTC Touch Pro is the onli one that fits all your requirements. make sure u use the third party software called softmaker office. its better than the standard windows mobile one

@kazasho, the nokia isnt windows mobile. so with the samsung and tytn2, personally i'd go for tytn 2. cuz of the screen size

Actually, I'm heavily considering a HTC Touch Diamond as I'm looking for a PDA for my final year project, Im pretty much in the dilemma between a TD and an Omnia but have kinda favored the TD from the beginning until now, just that I'm really worried bout the sucky battery life on the TD, i've heard bad things bout the battery life and it can like drain in half a day through normal usage sweat.gif ...

Any advice or alternatives I can or should be considering?

ps: Seriously like the VGA screen on the TD tongue.gif

sorry for late reply. yes the td has battery issues. u can get the extended battery and problem solved, just left the limited 4gb. omnia is also a very good choice and has been proven to be a gaming powerhouse. i'd personally go for omnia

not really. those two are your current real best bet, and already slightly over budget

@hellson, accessing the web isnt device dependent, but probably browser, or the security of the web itself dont allow, i dont know. so try to get your friend's HD to access it first before getting a wm device primarily for that
