Of course if you can get the map to download into the phone. But downloading the map does equal to log-on your location. You need satellite signal to triangulate your position. Unless your phone has a dedicated GPS unit to receive and process the satellite signal itself, you have to rely on network mask to do the job for you, and hence why you need to connect on-line in order for that processed data to relay back to you.
So, even you have the map you still need to get connect to start your AGPS.

i remember iphone can do download offline map for googlemaps, but not sure if the java version can do so. but even so, googlemaps doesnt offer directions, so i would say Gmap is just for knowing where is the place from ur point. and you still have to find the way there. and no voice navigation.

unless navifone or garmin comes out with a java version.

well, basically.. this phone is compatible with N96! it has the best camera amongst all but the only thing i don't really like is the gps system! it's not that the gps is not good but it jus lags very often while loading! i don't know whether is this what happens to all phones or oni this! so far, i have not played any further with the phone yet but i heard from my friend that taking video is not as good as snapping photos! another worst thing is the front cam can oni be used during video calls! besides all these, i think it's worth it to get this phone. I'm oso wondering how much will it cost out there?! 

nope... u can use it for video call jus lik other hp... jus tat u cant use the video call cam to take pic... tat is the disadvantage of SE compare to nokia...

Sony Ericsson C905 has the latest Access NetFront HTML browser 3.4. Elaborate web pages are rendered well and there are lots of configurable settings too.
