Guys..
I have this problem when using my Omnia for 1-2 days, the camera wont load with error msg: " Not enough video memory, please close other applications"
I ended all other tasks it still gives the same error. I need to soft reset my Omnia for the camera to work again.

Has anyone got a way to fix this? It is irritating to need to restart Omnia when you want to capture at a time critical moment. I am on HH3 firmware btw.

anyone can recommend me any good freeware file explorer for WM6.1 that is compatible with Omnia.. the standard File Explorer has limited options eg cannot change filenames' extension, etc.

hey guys... wanna ask if i update da firmware... will all the files in My Storage will be deleted???
*
I updated to HH3 on the first day I bought my Omnia and then to the unofficial HI3 a few days ago... both updates did not delete files in My Storage. I know as I put all installers inside there and just simply reinstall back my fav WinMo applications

Ur Omnia screen rotation lag becoz ur firmware not updated yet i guess.. The screen rotation is faster with HI1, as compared to G4..
*
I agree,I'm on HI3 and screen rotation is smooth even when using Garmin smile.gif

and did anyone having problem with their incoming call vibration, mine just vibrate without rhythm but in setting we can set how it vibrate
*
That is true! I find its a non-issue for me though.. once the call ended the phone will auto rotate again. As for the vibration, my phone will vibrate according to rhythm I choose in the setting.
I am on HI3 firmware BTW.

Added on October 17, 2008, 4:17 amwana ask NavFone is better than Garmin???

btw im using Navfone... and it automatically enable my GPS...
does GPS eat our credits??? so far i have checked my credits n it remain unchange...

da thing that amaze me is it detects itself where I am on the map...

so if that is the case, how GPS works?? y its free?
*
I am not familiar with Navfone, but most probably your Navfone software comes preloaded with Malaysia and Singapore maps therefore it do not need to download the map
based on where you are like Google Maps.

It is free because GPS do not use internet but it works by GPS receiver calculates its position by timing the signals sent by the constellation of GPS satellites high above the Earth.

hi, please excuse the noob questions. fresh noob here hehehe..
1. umm how do i go to the device registry?
2. have any of u guys experienced "My Storage" gone missing? this has happened to me twice.
3. what im client do u guys use on your omnia? fring is nice but the problem is when u chat, u cant see what u r typing because the onscreen keypad blocks your chat window.. sad.gif
*
Answer:

1. Get a freeware Total Commander CE for PocketPC, install in your Omnia, it is an advanced file explorer, better than standard one. To browse the registry, go to root, you will see a folder named plugin, tap on it and then go to "registry" folder and then browse to the desired destination eg HKLM/Windows/...bla bla..

2. Never happened to me before, can you tell us how did you discover that your "My Storage" has gone missing?

3. Try Agile Messenger or IM+

How long did you guys charge your Omnia for the first time ? The salesman told me to charge for 8 hours.
*
I believe that is a standard answer from most of handphone shops sales personnel.. first time is to charge for 8 hours.

I charged around 7 hours for the first time.. anyway don't be surprised if the battery life is pretty short during the first few days of use.
It will take some charging/recharging for the battery to reach its peak performance.

I am now in my 3rd week of use and I guess the battery is at its full potential now, light usage (some gps, some wifi browsing, 40+ pictures taken) and the phone lasts for 5 days.

yo ppl.. i just bought a 16gb phone but im still very lost.. it seems that after the salesman install all the "software".. i have alot of things that im in the dark.. if anyone would like to enlighten..

first problem
(i have mapking and garmin) i can use garmin.. but it doesnt talk to me.. mapking seems like there isnt a map.. and they take like 30 minutes from lowyat till back home only can detect.. omg! so slow..

Edit : mapking always show hk demo only and im not even moving it shows im moving at 12 kmph? @.@!? lol

second
i have connected to the wireless but i cant seem to search the net.. whats wrong.. and there's alot of delay this phone and hang also..

third
how to check ur firmware and software version? and what's the latest now? please help =)
sry if these questions have been answered countless times but i don't think i have time to read 111 pages @.@
*
1. To lock your GPS position, it is optimal for your device to be at a fixed position (i.e, the car is not moving), under the clear sky and allow for 5 minutes for the lock to complete.
I don't use Mapking so I cannot answer your question regarding Mapking, sorry.

2. Omnia is very sensitive to wifi strength, sometimes when the signal is weak it tries very hard to connect and succeeded, but data transfer is almos impossible as the wifi will be disconnected and
reconnect again and again

3. To check your firmware version, go to Settings --> System --> Info . Currently the latest official firmware from Samsung is DXHH3. Refer to first page of this thread on how to update your firmware.

What's the latest firmware and what's the latest official firmware? Which one would you guys recommend ? Seems that mine comes with H3 which is supposedly a battery killer ?
*
Latest official firmware for Malaysia region is DXHH3. I don't agree that HH3 is a battery killer, I think my battery life was good with HH3.

Latest unofficial or leaked firmware for Malaysia region is DXHJ1.

To get the latest roms, how to install them and learn about the naming convention, go here

p/s: I am on DXHI3, pretty happy with this version. I will not jump to latest DXHJ1 until more reviews from other users smile.gif

Guys, where can i buy Mobile Mounting Kit for Omnia I900 ?
Need it so i can hook the phone in my car for GPS usage.
Since most of you'll use GPS here, u'll r using the car mounting kit as well rite?
Any gud places to buy nice pouches as well.
There are many on the web, but it's all in oversea only & they dun deliver it here.
*
I bought car mounting kit for RM30 only. It is good and firm enough for me, numerous phone shops/stalls sell them.

Make sure you test first, by moving and shaking the support bar and the phone holder itself.
