Hello people. Just jump off the iPhone bandwagon and hop on Omnia 16GB bandwagon. Bought mine in SG ebay 2 weeks but still not in hand yet. No worries. I'm not being conned here. My cousin in SG COD-ed for me and have to wait till this saturday when I go back Taiping for my cousin's wedding only can take. Damn. I've been following the threat for quite some time and when users are happy and excited about it, the pain of waiting is so unbearable for me. 3 more days from now. Minutes feels like years for me!!! Not missing my iPhone at all but am proud to join the Omnia community even though I haven't hold mine in my hands yet.

Just got my baby Omnia yesterday.. Whole night couldn't sleep.. Playing nonstop with it.. Really worth every penny of mine..

CONGRATS!!!! HAHA!!!!! DAMN IT!!! CAN'T WAIT FOR MY TURN THIS SATURDAY!!!!

Everyone wanted a comparison of the iPhone vs the Omnia right? I was a previous iPhone user and I guess I'm qualify to give a comparison about this. Anyways, there's not much big difference between the 3G version and the EDGE version just for the 3G surfing speed and built in GPS. Apart from this 2 big significant differences the EDGE and 3G version is about the same. I've watch the User guide for the 3G version, and I can say that, 90% of the video used in 3G's user guide is same as the one for EDGE version.

Now to my viewpoint of comparison. Well of course the smoothness of the iPhone is better compared to Omnia...but im not sure the latest H1 firmware has improve the smoothness or not...I've heard that it has but wait till I try my Omnia...iPhone's camera and the speaker really frustrates me...to me imho i feel that what iPhone has, omnia has it but it just that not as good (as in the smoothness of scrolling)...but...omnia has things that iPhone do not have...GPS+AGPS(correct me if I'm wrong if iPhone 3G has both AGPS+GPS), turnover mute, louder speaker, play any format of video and audio, flash player, bluetooth file transfer, sms forwarding, copy paste text, better camera with flash...and i do take a lot of pictures...maybe for camera u might advice me to get a digicam...but let say if i wan to take pic all of a sudden when i do not have a digicam? answer to it will be an Omnia...forgot a few more things...video call...and also microsoft office mobile...hahaha...and what is a 3G phone if it doesn't have a video call function? Bull Shit~~~

Guys,

I have updated the ROM to

Ver: PDA: i900DXHH1/DZHH1.
Phone:: i900DXHH1

at CSC Summit USJ.

Not sure anyone here with the above ROM having the following problems.

After the upgrade, my battery seems to drain rather fast compare to the previous version G4 or something ( can't remember ).

Full charged at 12pm 27/8/08. Balance 2 bar at 6am 28/8/08. There is no other programs running except the Alarm. Disabled HSPDA and 3G. There was no calls out/in since that time.

Any clues. Thanks.

PS: mine is 16G.

Does this mean if we're using GPS we are not advise to update to H1? shocking.gif

Guys...Check out The Star newspaper today in Star Two section. New Samsung phone the Innov8. 8MP phone has almost all the features of Omnia but its running Symbian OS. Quote it as Omnia's wifey? lolz... biggrin.gif

Not talking about GPS. doh.gif  Battery life longer on previous ROM. Lasted about 3 days.

With GPS, your battery will be flat in 2hrs.

Yea I know you're not refering GPS but battery life. What I meant is that, if we're heavy GPS users, better not update first lo. If not battery juice gone lo. That's what I mean actually. doh.gif

Different package comes with different accessories. There are even package that comes with just the handset, handsfree, and charger and that's it. Some comes with additional stylus which is the one looks like a pen with a hook for you to hook on the pocket not hang on the phone with a cap. Some comes with pouch. There are different different packages.

Couldn't agree more. But I couldn't locate the package with the pouch one. All I can find is the stylus one. The one that can hang on the phone.

With warranty, but Singapore's warranty.. Which means i have to go to Singapore if whatsoever go wrong with my Omnia.. But i doubt there would be any problems.. Since i've used 3 Samsung phones and had no problem with all of them..

Dropped my ex-samsung phone 11 floors down through the gap of the lift, yet my Samsung phone can still be used without having to service or fix.. That's what's keeping me loyal towards Samsung..  rclxms.gif

this is crazy...11 floors...my previous 8910...3 floors...dead...

Hey, I'm back guys. I finally got my Omnia last Saturday and my firmware is G4. One weird thing is that, I've activated my 3G service but I couldn't use video call function. Can somebody help me? Am I suppose to update the firmware to H1 to get the thing working? I've check the operator settings in the settings section and I only have choices of Singtel, Starhub, M1 and My Maxis MAS. No option of My Maxis 3G like the one shown in my friends i780. Anyone can help me?

One more question. How can I activate the image stabilizer function on the camera? The pictures I took seems to be blur due to "shaky" hands. icon_question.gif

think the image stabilizer was disabled on newer firmwares...just check under settings in camera mode......go to page 4/4  its there

Thanks for the help lynxs. Hmm... I still thinking how to solve the 3G matter. Anyone using SG set encounter this problem?

I would like to try that. In fact I'm trying it now. Any feedback for upgrading to H1??

Go to start>setting>operator setting
then select your provider it should be there unless you are on a Spore set then you need to change the preference to Malaysia.
The settings are done automatically.
