the touch screen heptic feedback can be off...but not messaging...and also...there is chinese input...

after finish downloading all the required files and installed required files...change ur USB connection to active sycn under ur omnia's settings---> connection...then plugin and wait for active sync to backup ur files...then double click on the downloaded firmware...click on the box...both of it...and then start the flashing...after flashing is complete...there will be a box saying the flash is complete and safe to remove usb cable...

i'll be home...but i wont be here later...because later i go minum...my bday tmr...

having the same problem as u dude.....based on what i have read.....to update with Vista u need to use a prgram called virtual machine which creates a another boot device on your comp with windows XP so u can update......looked too complicated for me to try out and whats more, it will probably cause errors on your firmware upgrade as well..

Better wait for the official one on the samsung website......or find an XP machine

mine was like that as well.....holding the end call button does not unlock the phone with SPB shell..

try this.....try switching off the use now screen during standby and then click ok

Then u can switch it on again and it should work fine after that. Just that the holding end call to unlock the phone cannot be used.....that seems to be permanent. But u can still use the touchsceen to unlock

i know....read carefully....

after u restart the fone.....go to settings -----> spb mobile shell..... from the spb menu

uncheck show the now screen when my device wakes up

then click ok

problem should be solved, except now the stanby screen is your samsung theme.

Now, u can redo the same steps to reactivate the now screen as your standby and you should no longer have that problem.

I had exactly the same problem, had to restart the fone everytime....not anymore...and im using the now screen as my standby screen

i suggest u dont backup your system files, or your new firmware might get reverted back to the old one....the backup is stored in a self executable exe file.....just select it and it will start restoring your files..

It would backup your software as well.....but i would recommend reinstalling the software after a firmware upgrade. Just so all the bugs get fixed.

Just backup your contacts and appointments by using the custom backup under spb backup

I just flash my phone to the latest firmware:-

version:
PDA: i900DXHI1/DXHI1
PHONE: i900DXHI1

this firmware is way better than HH3 and it improves hell lots of bug..
for example if you press on the physicall call button and invoke the phone dialer...press on the phone book button and try do search ..key in !!! your phone will hang with HH3!!!

but with DXHI1 it is fix...

you can try www.modaco.com to download the firmware updater yourself but pls read the instruction properly on how to do it..

is it switched on in the first place.....

go to start -----> setttings

Go to the system tab

click on motion sensor

set it to automatic

i think u have to goto my blog and read the detail...it will direct you to www.modaco.com

i dont want to give any more direct link as some ppl may not read the instruction and use it blindly and kill their omnia and later blame me..

i want to upgrade my omnia.. but i wonder if my mapking and garmin will be lost or not.. if let's say my mapking and garmin also lost.. i know that i can simply download the mapking/garmin installer and installed it back.. but does it requires any licence or activation code in order to use it??
im just so lazy to go to shop (where i bought my omnia) and ask them to install them back...

original cable RM33, car charger RM29? the previous time i heard from a forumer here is RM29 for original car charger...he bought in summit...

pouch in mid valley.....samsung shop at LG.....was RM99....think the other shops are around the same price as well
