QUOTE(dayak_warrior @ Jan 11 2010, 11:10 PM)
Hello people ! I just started my UK Degree Transfer Programme LLB with HELP University College and I would like to ask a few questions on my future as a legal practitioner.

Currently, I'm planning to do a 2+1 LLB whereby I switch to either Cardiff U or the University of Liverpool in my third year.
A fellow coursemate of mine said that it would be harder for me to get a job in the UK if I only did a year in a UK university and advised me to do both my second year and third year in UK. Is this true ? Would two years of studying at a UK university instead of one year really affect my job prospects in the future? Would I get the same LLB degree if I finished my third year in the University of Liverpool as a person who did both his second and third year in Liverpool ?

Finally, I'd like to ask how much are the fees to study the BVC in the UK ?

Sorry for my n00bie questions, and replies would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.  smile.gif

Well in general unless you have exceptional academic results, you might attract local employers. If otherwise, may be an up-hill challenge.

if your implying about recognition of a degree i.e. Cardiff or Liverpool, probably in Malaysia it might make some difference, in addition to those requirements a good result would help especially in the UK.

it wouldnt be any different if you studied 1+2 or 2+1, in any case a good result would or might get you through the door but not necessary a job.

Why?
Immigrants cost more to employ i.e. permits and all.
Language barrier
Don't forget, your not the only person studying law. There are tonnes of other British law grads, so expect competition to be tough.

Applicable to Cardiff.

BVC = 11,000 pounds or more for fees alone. (fees posted here may be outdated, i left cardiff in 2005.)
