Actually your windows XP will not detect the ps3 HDD because it in a Sony proprietary format. Windows XP only reads NTFS and FAT32. To format it you will need to use some Hard Disk management software like Norton Partition Magic or Acronis Disk Director.

QUOTE(snipersnake @ Aug 20 2008, 03:47 PM) now its a backup for my ps3. should my ps3 f***s up, I can switch it back in and send it to service center. That is correct and that is why you need a3rd party software like partition magic to see other disk management utilities. I had the same problem untill i used partition magic and then reformatted it.Added on August 20, 2008, 3:48 pm Granted. but its not even detected as an unknown USB device. QUOTE(lil_chocobo @ Aug 29 2008, 12:34 AM) worrr... u r being sarcastic... My 40GB only lasted a few months. If you intend to download a lot of demos and install lots of games, 40GB will be gone before you know it. I use 512 line....1gb takes about 3-4 hours also.maybe will upgrade once i buy new modem.... just wanna ask, u guys dl the demo using 1mb line?
