Haven't upgraded yet but will need to soon. Only 10GB left. But it's going to be pain downloading all the demos I like again

I thought my external HDD didnt work with my ps3 but it turns out there wasn't enough power. Needed to plug it into both USB ports to work shakehead.gif

Actually your windows XP will not detect the ps3 HDD because it in a Sony proprietary format. Windows XP only reads NTFS and FAT32. To format it you will need to use some Hard Disk management software like Norton Partition Magic or Acronis Disk Director.

That is correct and that is why you need a3rd party software like partition magic to see other disk management utilities. I had the same problem untill i used partition magic and then reformatted it.

For some reason my pc couldnt detect it until I used partition magic...weird hmm.gif Or maybe it was something with the enclosure coz I was fiddling with that also... hmm.gif

My 40GB only lasted a few months. If you intend to download a lot of demos and install lots of games, 40GB will be gone before you know it. I use 512 line....1gb takes about 3-4 hours also.
