There's really no harm if you want to build your own guitar.
In fact, I commend it! It's not easy to build your guitar own guitar and you really need lots of patience, time, effort, skill and more patience to build your dream guitar.

But if you're building a guitar thinking that it's going to outplay generations of experienced guitar builder's efforts....... then I think you're going to be greatly disappointed.
