I am really tempted to upgrade now.. Any news if SIS is able to provide free upgrade for this 1.93 ROM? Still gathering courage, my TD is only 1 week old, can't turn it into a brick that soon..

Okay, thats it.. the improvements are too tempting! I will be HardSPLing my TD if SiS could not provide a public release for the 1.93 ROM by this Saturday, 26th June 2008. I will list out every steps and provide all files needed for this in my blog if its a success, if not, please attend my TD's funeral..

Yes, that was actually my idea. To have all the steps and files used for a "successful" HardSPL. That is, "IF" I am successful..

Thanks for the vote of confidence Baronic but I don't think I can wait till Saturday. I actually tried to HardSPL few minutes before this post and sorry to say its unsuccessful. I'm eager to continue trying but I don't have much time left. But the good news is my phone is still usable..

I tried HardSPL with 1.30 Olinex (signed version) but during the last step I am prompted on my diamond to allow untrusted program. After I select OK the phone rebooted and ROM Update Utility 3.1.3.2 showing "ERROR [260] : CONNECTION", basically it has lost connection with my phone. And one more thing, the ROM Update Utility is actually showing a Trinity instead of a Diamond. Is this okay? I think I have no choice but to go with the riskier developer (unsigned) version.

Besides that is anyone out there who knows how to backup Garmin MXT? I'm just trying to backup the few "My Locations" point that I saved. Thanks in advance. I will try again tomorrow, so stay tuned..

An update guys, my itchy fingers couldn't help but tried to do the HardSPL again before I sleep. It seems that the version I used was based on the MFG version, not the Olinex version. However, I did not continue because my TLR ROM file was corrupt.. I'm downloading 2 different copies from xda now for backup. I will try again later after work today.

It seems nobody knows how to backup Garmin? Actually google searches on this topic does not give good results either.. wierd.. However, I have already downloaded the whole Garmin folder and see if I can find a way to backup "My Favourite" saved points. I will let u all know about this.

Wow, that's bad. I think its better for you to test with other TD owners.

I intentionally did not leave any comments after upgrade so that I can give a better one after a few days of use. But the phone is more responsive after the upgrade, especially TF3D.

Yeah, its my first time so I'm keeping it safe. But if I do intend to use an unsigned version of SPL do I need to go through this process?
1. Return to stock settings (Downgrade to stock 1.37 ROM -> Install stock SPL)
2. Install unsigned SPL -> Any ROMS regardless of signed or unsigned.

The stock ROM is actually at the bottom of my blog, in the "Software Archive" section. I think that was my stock ROM but where can I get the stock SPL?

A few things that I noted after the upgrade so far :-
1. The Start Menu (Start -> Settings -> Menus) list could no be changed, giving the error "Cannot move that item" when I tried to edit it.
2. When I tried to add programs in TF3D, I see lots of duplicate entries like Calendars, Contacts, Excel Mobile, Help, etc etc..

Yes, I'm able to find the Stock SPL. I will upload it at the "Software Archive" section once I've finish downloading it, together with the stock ROM and stock radio.

Yeah, its a smudge magnet to the max! Actually in order to maintain its glossiness, I resort to using the stylus. Even then I still need to wipe it few times a day to perfection!

Actually I'm quite pleased with the improved performance in TLR v3 ROM. I'm not sure about Cordon's ROM, perhaps you should give TLR a try. But make sure you know how to flash TLR's ROM from your current phone condition! Be doubly sure if possible..

Congrats!! If you ask me, I would think that TLR is already included with the necessary tweaks. Head to xda forum if you really want to know more regarding this ROM.

Hong Kong Official WWE ROM - 1.93.831.1 WWE 52.29.25.12H_1.00.25.05 is out! Check http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=410720 . Is this the same version as ours? Even if the latest Official ROM is out for MY, can I install this ROM on my existing Hard-SPL Olinex v1.30 (Signed) ? Official ROM should be signed right? Just to confirm before I brick my phone.. I'm still waiting for MY's latest ROM based on 1.93 .

Guys, any recommendations on what program is good for playing avi files? I'm thinking of trying to run Initial D on my TD, not sure if it will be laggy like on my previous h6365.

Yes you are right, in the sms thread you need to drag and highlight the sender name and their message until it turns blue, then only the forward option will be available.

E = Edge
G = GPRS
3G = 3G, duh..
H = HSPDA

I just changed my Maxis plan to Value Plus 50 + Extra Bytes (RM8 for 5MB data usage) to test out 3G. However, for whatever reasons (please let me know if you do), I check my Maxis unbilled amount (at the time of writing) is RM 191.47 . I am sure that I have not used more than 5 minutes going online via 3G/HSPDA.

I think from davidmak's previous post he did some changes on the configuration to stop the phone from using 3G during a wifi session. I got the idea from there to change my Maxis 3G configuration from unet to unet1 to stop it from connecting using 3G/HSPDA. So far so good but it is an expensive lesson..

That was the reason I shared this. It might be an indirect strategy to force users to unnecessarily subscribe to unlimited plan.

I encountered a new problem yesterday. The create new sms interface did not appear, I can only see a full white interface with the black top (SMS/MMS, OK) and bottom (Send, Input Settings, Menu) bar. Soft resetting the phone few times did not help. Finally I managed to fix it my uninstalling CE-Star. Very wierd. I also can't seem to update my weather anymore. I'm currently running TLRv3 on Olinex HardSPL 1.40 . Anyone facing the same problem?
