I find that my call volume is a bit low and when I crank up the volume to max the speaker sounds like its pecah. any other owners experiencing this problem? if its just a problem with my unit might have to in back to sis for warranty
*
its normal la... but let baronic compare with either tytnII or D810. IMHO, D810 audio is quite loud and good for comparison.

dun expect it something like nokia,se or other normal phone do..

SIS sticker varies from country to country.
If i still remember, SIS malaysia sticker stated as it is, SIS Malaysia.

how come baronic get cheap price? he got it from direct SIS, which not all of us can do.

i dont quite understand your question. Yes it can record video. But what exactly do you mean "VGA" format. The resolution? I guess it should be in a bigger resolution, i should think. I dont think there's a way to test this?
*
recording vga=640x480 resolution...
normal recording is done in QVGA = 320x240..
you can check when you go to camera->setting->video->resolution... <-- i oso dunno if i am correct or not... hehehe

Do i turn on the Agps or turn it off?

Saw the option in Schaps Advanced Config

I know AGPS may use the GPRS for data, so if i turned it on while i rake up an enormous bill?
It took mine about 10 mins to get a fix sad.gif

I tot the Diamond came with EGPS?
But in HTC's website i oni saw AGPS?
*
editted:wrong info.. refer below for eGPS and aGPS...

Just to clarify some mistakes regarding for Egps and Agps i said previously.

QUOTE(wikipedia)
Enhanced GPS (or E-GPS, EGPS, trademarked as eGPS) is a technology designed for mobile phones on GSM and W-CDMA networks, to augment GPS signals to deliver faster location fixes, lower cost implementations and reduced power and processing requirements. It is being developed by CSR who has partnered with Motorola &endash; together they intend to create an open industry forum.

According to CSR, EGPS delivers a "universal positioning capability that will not only work reliably indoors and in zero GPS signal conditions, but greatly speed time to fix in poor GPS reception areas where most handsets are used." More specifically, it can "exploit data available from the cellular network to speed GPS fixes and provide complementary, fast, and reliable location sensing when GPS signals are weak or unavailable." CSR is hoping to add eGPS capabilities to handsets for under $1 per unit.

E-GPS combines CSR's "Matrix" technology with GPS – when a user initiates a location request they get a Matrix location instantly using cell tower information, accurate to within 100m. Then CSR's "Fine Time Aiding" helps the device know where to look for a GPS signal, to quickly acquire satellite information within seconds. Fine Time Aiding enables a more aggressive search and is claimed to be equivalent to 6 dB more sensitivity than can be achieved by any GPS hardware correlator in the terminal.

CSR claim that this enables software-only GPS solutions to operate reliably in all environments, and that eGPS is superior to Assisted GPS. EGPS technologies are due in 2008.
oh yeah... damagedigital, if ur gps can fix 10sec n below.. its call hotstart. coldstart usually takes near 45sec-1min. and hobbes case, its called annonymous start where it is fresh start without any data for fix. the shortest for annonymous start is 90sec and can take as long as 30min if it is not under clear sky.

no no... egps is like a built in features. the one to control is quikgps. if quikgps is shown as expired, just update it with wifi if u dont want to use 3g unless u under unlimited plan.

hehehe..really??i tot if u fired up ur gps for the 1st time it called coldstart??? pening2

it depends. if your 1st time start gps, it is annonymous start. but then if u already updated the egps, you can get very fast fix. but if u dont use egps, it can take quite sometime under clear sky. smile.gif

hahaha..for my case i still confuse..coz at that point of time i haven't updated my quickgps data yet....well i guess I'm just lucky...
*
true, i am also shock by ur answer that u didnt update ur quikgps... i know when i use hp6965 with quikgps updated i can locate myself in the house... not by window...

QUOTE(Baronic @ Jun 9 2008, 05:42 PM)
i didnt use quickGPS either, and used my GPS cold start from indoors, though i sat by the window. approximately 30 seconds
*
window near clear sky?

QUOTE(^Hobbes^ @ Jun 9 2008, 05:44 PM)
That means mine is faulty?

The sensitivity thing is set to Normal
Shuld be set to High?
*
u mean the mapking? it is supposed to be set normal and recommended to set it low... not sure why but it does help abit..
however if ur fix longer doesnt mean to be faulty.

QUOTE
i believe e-gps is automatic? when u're trying to locate of sat signals, it also uses your GSM to get a better, faster, and stronger fix. not data, as in 3G or internet. but your GSM itself

maybe... have to understand it more coz i am not too sure about this eGPS...

for those who installed or wanted to install mapkingr12 beware of the "GREY SCREEN Issue"..please refer to the pics below:

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

happened to me n another poor fella..

solution:

Disable Mapking SMS from your startup items. I used memmaid to delete the MapkingR12_SMS.ink from my startup items...u may also use other tools as well as long as it can edit the startup items...hehehe...

After removing that from the startup items list restart your phone...n viola no more grey screen of death...hehehe rclxms.gif

QUOTE(^Hobbes^ @ Jun 10 2008, 08:51 AM)
I found some bugs

No sms forwarding
Touchflo today's screen Calendar would only go to appointment view instead of monthly view
Btw i dont know why my GPS fix faster already lesss than a min laugh.gif
*

sms forwarding? u r sure it doesnt have? try disable the touch3d and go to message manually. it shud have forwarding. its a standard feature... or this new wm6.1 dun have? oh wait.. i think because of the sms threading features...

lol after a long fix, usually it will now start either hotstart (10sec<) or cold start(<1min)... unless u totally didnt use for like 2 days.. it might take longer time to fix back.. smile.gif

nope...

that is actually the cons for wm6.1 sms threading. head to xda-dev, there is a cab/registry hack for disabling it but from my previous exp, it disable all the sound as well. :|
