Well, if you think of it, there's reasoning for getting fatter.
First, you will be eating a lot more than usual consumption. But due to pregnancy, many women will actually make a lot less movement. Just like my colleague in my office, she double her meal but move a lot less than before pregnancy. Some women does develop diabetis during pregnancy which would explain the sugar level in her blood as a result of unhealty eating habit.
