I tried the trial and seems like it's a little delay with my ping so will it affect very much in PvP? Or the PvP still can handle without much problem?

with VM linux, my ping is on avg 300-400

sure, it still sucks to pvp with this ping as melee, but it sure as hell beat 400-600 ms. and ive played 400-600 ms for the longest time before using vmlinux routes, and still, a melee, same undead rogue since closed beta.

im not exactly the top player in my server/BG, but my armory is enough to speak for itself, and im an old schooler in my server that earned enough respect for almost everyone to recognize me minus the new comers/transfers. My high warlord title alone would also be enough to speak for themself. especially as people that played with me during my grind knew that i did it with my own bare hands with countless of sleepless days/weeks/months.

full S3, full epic BT gems, full S3 weapons (3 daggers, 2 swords, 2 maces, 2 claws, throwing. ALL mongoose enchanted minus throwing)
getting S3 rogue tanking set now (same pieces, cept gemming/enchanting defensive gems/enchants)

thats what happens when you have way too much f***ing arena points in your hands.

Ping will be painful indeed if its too high.

How much were you getting exactly? PvP is the most demanding on ping imo, especially if you want to play a melee class!

Below 500ms would be good, but it will still be hard to compete with East coast US players who easily get below 100ms... rclxub.gif

theoretically yeah. problem is, VMware doesnt support mac. may need to run bootcamp or something. or maybe its just me couldnt find a mac version.

either that, or just find another virtual machine program, and run linux (preferably feather linux, EZ to use)

Yar, I was more asking to the TS who asked if his ping would be an issue in pvp without telling us roughly how much of it he was getting smile.gif

High ping definitely affects my performance in PvP. Even when my ping was about 400ms tops. Counter Spelling a 1.5s cast is very hard if the caster has spell pushback resistance like Priests, Pally and Shaman.

I'm still hoping for a real Oceanic server. Good thing Warhammer's gonna have it. Hope its good, or I'll be stucking with high ping again laugh.gif

"Out of range"
"you must be behind your target"

and so on.

Yar, for melees the lag will means you will see yourself at the melee range but because of the lag, the server will consider that you are too far.... Sucks hard for melee.

Ranged/healers have less issues on this so they will be less affected by the lag overall (but it stills important, try to Counter Spell a short casting spell with a high lag is not funny).

400 should be "ok". 700 can be problematic already, it's not really good.

Simple and short:

You need good latency for PvP.
Or all your PvP contenders are having higher lat than you.
