QUOTE(benlaw @ May 7 2010, 12:58 AM) i work for telcoand YTL only hv 15 site on air it is impossible they get real launching at 1th of july it will only be a paper launch for my opinion , gpacket should worry abt the UNIFI coz it make the broadband average price getting lower and lower but gpacket still haven't finish their base station expansion yet. |

Their wimax business seem like getting harder
Previously d site build at town like kv , Jb or pg which cover more residential n more profitable places 1000 site ady cover 45% residential area But this yr estimate to build additional 600 site to cover juz addition 10% ppls... Wondering why they don't focus on first tier city like kv since there is still many places nt in coverage n more profitable |

for LTE ,
i think FDD or TDD is not an issue for the industry rite ? coz TDD will be support by most of the operator (at least at asia) any idea will government allow wimax operator to use their wimax frequency for LTE purpose ? |

QUOTE(river.sand @ Feb 27 2012, 11:34 AM) spectrum license =/= LTE license From what I know MCMC issues LTE license and the right to use for 2.6Ghz Spectrum. (Since MCMC haven't make any official announcement yet due to they are reviewing Operator's Business Proposal , may be not all operator get the license..... who knows Now 9 companies have been awarded the 2.6GHz spectrum, but maybe only 3 or 4 LTE licenses will be issued. Companies which do not have LTE license must either sell their spectrum or be acquired. What can you foresee? P1 merge with YES? P1 acquires Redtone? DiGi merge with U Mobile? btw , Digi and Celcom already formed a campaign and most likely same for Maxis and U Mobile. May be Wimax operator have to form their campaign also coz they having same license (Wimax + LTE) Added on March 4, 2012, 11:11 am QUOTE(Oracles99 @ Feb 27 2012, 08:09 PM) Black swan events. Unlikely Vincent Tan having regreted selling Mutiara Swisscom to Digi would now merge UMobile with Digi. All indications are UMobile is doing it alone. Hence, its IPO in the third quarter interested to the IPO ?This post has been edited by rizer: Mar 4 2012, 11:11 AM |

QUOTE(alenac @ Oct 26 2012, 04:24 PM) Green Packet denied anyone bidding for P1 and telecom also dismissed any interest but volume seemed to be going up and up. Is this the last hurrah for Puan Chan to unload after crying NIBT wolves too many times? they have Wimax license and probably will get LTE license as wellAnyone buying Gpacket will have to bear a huge liability of 900 mill. those license worth some money Plus invested infra and current customer base Added on November 5, 2012, 1:25 pmwondering why Gpacket wanna sell P1 at this moment maybe now seriously run out of money ? So the deal is TM bought new share of P1
Green packet wouldn't benefit except its subsidiary P1? |
