http://biz.thestar.com.my/news/story.asp?f...80&sec=businessAA preemptive measure against Malindo.....and open sky.
I think its a good move by AA however lower income for us share holder in the short term while the war is on.
in the end , i think they will prevail.
ASEAN Open Sky, from what I know, is limited to the capitals in the first stage.
For example, MAS can fly from KL to Bangkok, pick up passengers, and continue to Hanoi. However, MAS cannot fly from BKK to Ho Chi Minh City, as the latter is not a national capital.
Since Air Asia is largely a point-to-point airline, it may not benefit from the Open Sky policy.

Did some search on SpiceJet India & found some interesting info.
SpiceJet is link to Kalanithi Maran of Sun Group (SunTV).
He own direct 16.27% and indirect 32.32% (via KAL AIRWAYS PRIVATE LIMITED).
He is the person involved in the maxis-aircel case in india.
Why AirAsia in talk to this particular company when there's a lot more india LCC to choose. This confirm AirAsia link to AK as what some people are saying on streets.
just my opinion
