AirAsia Indonesia’s Surabaya-Singapore route frozen. The Indonesian Transport Ministry says Flight 8501 violated the route permit given and the schedule given.

A statement from the ministry spokesman, J A Barata, said AirAsia was not permitted to fly the Surabaya-Singapore route on Sundays and had not asked to change its schedule. It was unclear how the airliner was able to fly without the necessary authorisation.

With 2 big news over the weekend....that the QZ8501 is an illegal flight plus the Bandung plane with engine breakdown, i expect Air Asia to fall under selling pressure tomorrow. I also heard they have cancelled a few regional flights on safety concerns

there seems to be good support at 2.49-2.50.

really, the selling is overdone, imo.
yes, the tragedy brought awful overwhelming sentiments.
will take time to get over it.

"strange" in that airlines r benefiting form low fuel prices, e.g. sia.
but not aa. aa's revenues in declining rm probably negates some of that benefit.
on the contrary, if oil prices rebound, ass may recover!!

SIA actually not benefit that much, because they hedge most of their demands, might need losses if they have to unwind their hedge also.

AA saw their benefit wipe up of the accident...

I read somewhere they have 70% hedge, but still have some earning if the price stay low long enough.
