i think sonus faber goes very well with audio research..

nice setup there pcwork, are you planning to place ur sonus faber in that way ? i think it should be min 6 feet apart,

and then, side track, the other day i got the chance to listen to the new toy speaker, damm it is good, the price is also not bad, at about 3.7k , a bit small, too small, but dont under estimate this cili padi, it is so damm hot, you will melt the moment you listen to it. just only lack in the punchy bass. overall if you like opera music and andrea bocelli. you will love this toy.

respect respect pc work, you must be a very young entrepeneur, before graduate you already own sonus faber. really, you will be a very rich man one day. owning all the nice and high end stuff, and when you wanna sell them contact me yah. i cant buy brand new, only used.

but for sure, when you graduate, get a nice semi D and reserve a nice room for your beloved speaker.

Added on July 19, 2009, 10:42 amfirst thing, it is quite hard to find old sonus speakers. most of them becomes a collection of someone who owns them. i was told , an auntie in melaka, retired from teaching, owns 10 pair of different generations of sonus faber speakers. dont know what model, but i was told. she just buy and keep them.

i would say the prices are fixed at a minimum of 3k and above, very very hard to find speakers, and also a good price, so usually most ppl who bought them at 3.5 k , they probably sell at 3.5 k used. used dont know how many times.

anyway since the emerge of toy speakers. i wonder will every sonus faber make a nice bass extender for it, or maybe if you place in a correct room size and proper placement, you dont need the bass extender.

but i would say it is a different kind of bass, a romantic one, very different from other speakers. real italian feeling

toy open price at 6000, so damn expensive

the price is about there loh, cause the domus concertino, the same speaker but 2 drivers is selling at 9k, of course that after discount,

at 13k i think it is old price, cause domus no more liau, like going to extinct, replace by toy, ok lah, not very cheap but not very expensive also

I can tell you one thing, if you like chili padi, toy is like chili padi, if you dont know toy and has no idea about it, when u listen to you will like ahh, so small and yet so big ah !!! you wont believe, basically the sound is just like other SF domus series, but minus the bass tightness,, but overall at 3.8k it would be a steal, but if at 5.8k there are lot of options..

Added on August 9, 2009, 12:47 pmi presume when the photo was taken, no hifi technical person was around, the photographer obviously has no idea about speaker stand, and worst of all i think the magazine seldom check the photos, and the article probably was in a rush, so nothing edited or checked b4 published, and maybe the magazine has not review any past SF speakers and this was probably the first bookshelf, hehe, i think so my point of view. but is a laughing stock for ppl out there and makes a full embarrassment for SF company
