Yes, normal people like me only can afford Toy as main system, and have put it nicely on a stand; while some can afford to use it as rear surround speaker, and just hang it at the middle of the air. laugh.gif

I agree, the domus is very nice looking series of speaker. I saw home bookshelf before and still prefer domus. GP domus i felt it was very thick and heavy though. But i never tested GP home.

there isn't much good amps out there that can really power the GPs

listening to a few.....the one that i really like is AR.......

the 100watts per channel cannot be under estimated
the bass is so well controlled and the highs.....oh my....if the GPs could hv came with Scanspeaks instead of vifa....i think i'm oredi beyond heaven

What speaker powered by your PM7001 before? I know the KI version sound quite nice..
*
Previously i drive Audience 122 with 7001, then i got DM2/8 cos i wanted a bookshelf. While waiting for my bs to arrive, my dealer wanted to clear the nuforce, made me an offer and i took it. Drove my 122 with nuforce while waiting for 2/8 to arrive and i was hooked... power hungry speaker really diff on high current amp. Currently switch between the 2 depend on mood but 95% of the time in using 2/8 due to how i sit which is nearfield.

Once you take the 1st step, there is no turning back... now u look for speaker, then u will start look for amp, then u will think u need dac/sc, then u start to wonder cables, then u think about sonus, then after that u want a beefier amp, then and then and then.... ha ha ha whistling.gif

QUOTE(boomber @ Dec 8 2011, 02:56 PM)
Initially I tot my PM6003 really suck in pushing the toy, the lower end has no body and texture at all, so I blame everything on this Marantz amp lol.
So one day, my hand itchy, go and change the cable to a normal solid core type 4 cable from Audioquest, then wow~~~~~~
The bass is so nice, so texture and never interfere with mid and high. For sure the high sacrifice a bit but I think the system really sound very nice and poisoning now considering a 1K amp + RM100 cable pushing a toy monitor. Now I realize why they say Marantz amp is musical but next step I will still upgrade my amp.
*
I dono if ur a believer or not, but try a aftermarket powercord on your amp. My friend using 8003, we both thought it was amp prob, lack of bass compared to my older 7001, but using supra powercord din help but after change to VDH mainstream, he says that there is more bass. I have not audited it. I bought the same powercord at the same time but on my amp, it only improved clarity.
