Guys, need some guidance here. I am wondering, the stickers/decals placed on the gundam are quite visible to looked at. Anyway to hide them even more? Would top coat help and normally what do you guys use as a top coat? Where can i find them? Is clear paint = top coat? Thanks.

for waterslide decals...i've posted how to do that previously, read that.

for stickers, can't do much there. because basically stickers are pretty thick (compared to dry transfers and waterslide). in fact...the thickness is like this...dry transfer (thin), waterslide (medium), stickers (thick). because of this thickness, most modellers usually dun use the stickers. i know of a "master" that occassionally uses stickers especially those "caution" stickers which are rectangle.

the only way to make stickers less obvious... LOT AND LOTS of topcoat.as each layer of topcoat will slowly build up thickness. multiple topcoats will sooner or later cover up the stickers. once it's covered the sticker (with some spare layers), wet sand the kit. this is to even out the topcoat. reason being...ur sticker area will also have topcoats..so it'll be a micro bulge/lump there. so u need to wet sand down the topcoat to even out the surface. then polish the kit. followed by flat coat to ur preference

Wow, so there isnt any "easier" way to hide those stickers huh. Guess i have to live with that then. THanks for the tip there. smile.gif

Hi All!

I jz bought a MG Strike Freedom, am thinking to repaint the gold inner frame. It doesn't look good at all.
I dont have air brush, in fact, i'm new to gunpla.
I have been researching for the gold spray can that can produce the similar result as the gold plated inner frame of Strike Freedom Full Burst Mode.

Can anyone recommend any?
If you have done the similar, can post pic If possible.

Thanks you very much!

I have the same kit and sprayed it using the Tamiya Gold paint. It does not resembles the FBM gold in any way but at least looks better than the original one smile.gif

Hi akachester,

I know there are more than 1 kind of gold color in tamiya, may i know which Tamiya Gold (product code maybe) paint that you are using?
do you mind post the pic of your Strike Freedom?

Thanks!

Well, its not fully assembled yet at the moment. Just sprayed the gold parts with the Tamiya paint. About the product code, let me go back and check it for you. I remember the name is just Gold. Was looking for either Chrome Gold or Gold Leaf but couldn't seem to find it.

Regarding the pictures, will go back and post it tonight or tomorrow smile.gif

Added on April 2, 2009, 9:37 pmThese are the pictures of the Strike Freedom parts sprayed in gold as promised.

The code of the gold is TS-21 but i still feel the Gold Leaf should look nicer. smile.gif

By looking at the photo (though a bit dark) you uploaded, the gold looks not bad to me.

Appreciate your help. wink.gif

Well, to be honest, for me, it look much better than the original yellowish gold color to me. Might not look exactly the same or as nice as the chrome gold of FBM but this is at least better than the original. smile.gif

But doesn't look shinny enough. Maybe the camera?

BTW you should have cut some of the connectors before you spray as a whole. Maybe leave only 1 connector with the parts so you save effort on touching up once you cut them out.

Well, it does not look shiny. Just slight gloss. And picture is abit dark cause its taken during the night and lights on my room are abit dim. If you require a better, brighter picture, i can try it tomorrow morning though tongue.gif

Regarding the connectors, i kinda forgot about them as well when spraying tongue.gif Now, i need to get a can of those paint to touch up when assembling.

Yes, the 1/100 NG 00 Raiser have leds for the GN Drives. I was looking for the battery as well but couldn't seem to find any that matches the one that is needed for it.

Well, the battery type can be found anywhere from hardware shops to watch shops but i cant seem to find the same exact CR (i think could be the wattage or output of the battery) as listed on the cap of the LED itself. Need to check the CR again cause i cant remember whats the value listed.
