as much of an MGS fan I am, I don't think MGS4 will get GOTY.

so far reviews have hinted it's mostly for the MGS purist, with all the typical MGS elements returning, which is a big no-no for the mass market (we are even lucky enough to see a pea brained folk for example here ), although MGS does have a large fanbase by itself.

won't speculate on what's not out yet, but as it is, I think GTA4 will have a huge chance of the GOTY award.

probably to a certain extent GOW2 and Fallout 3 will have a fighting chance too if all the hype is met. but we never know what might happen to those games as they're not out yet.

QFT.

Metal Gear is not the GOTY type of game. With its complex storyline and no guns ho approach, its extremely hard to be accepted by the mass.(we even have one mr. Yokel here as a testament on that laugh.gif ) Even though it has the cult status, its mostly kept underwraps. No party, no Hollywood actors singers that dont know nothing about gaming will be able be avaliable during its launch, only some skinny and sleepy Japanese men will helm the launching. No more than that.

actually, GTA4 is just another GTA. The added elements? Multiplayer, but it was introduced in GTA2 (if memory serves me correct) and GTA Vice City Stories.Nothing really new for the game. Its GTA, so people go googoo gaa gaa over it.

if anything, gamers are to be blamed.
look at beyond good and evil.
great game, but did it receive the response it deserved?
NO.
gamers instead preferred to rely on proven a franchise

actually there is nothing wrong with sequals,as long as in each instalment, the game introduce
something new.
