well i bought a 2nd hand waja too, year 2003 for about 30k++, make sure bring a mechanic with you... the performance is nice and the FC is good, so far my car dont have any problem except ppl like to scratch my car... zzz...

1.8 is using renault engine and drive by wire tech or some thing like that. and trust me the reason why its cheaper is very much valid. its a problematic model due to the engine. if u like mentaining it then ok la..but better get the mitsu or campro's

lots of unnecessary problem with the engine this is what i heard. Why not u try to scroll in the autoworld for waja thread for some feedback. FC is confirm higher. if u like, get the 1.6 mits will be good enough and if i were u i'm getting it from auction house.

pay attention on the body paint, if it's still ori paint then good for u, open up the hood and try to spot is there any respray work done before, stand at the headlight area to see is there any wavy on the body (fender, front/rear door and tail) and do the same by standing at the rear light.

Open up the boot and take up the rear tray to see the spare tyre area whether is there any rusty, at the same time see the joint area near the boot lock is there any repaint job before.

check the mileage and chek the accelerator and brake pedal to see how bad is the rubber has worn out (if the rubber is flatten then the meter shows only 50k mileage then something is fishy).

Lift up the rubber mat (if any), use ur hand to feel is it dry or wet, start the engine n listen clearly whether the engine sounds is silent or rough, ask the owner when he change the timing belt and is there any service record.

switch on the aircon the compressor should not have rough spinning noise. Test drive and see whether the gear can be easily to engage (if manual), then whether its smooth (if auto gear and make sure u test all 4 gears). Open up the engine oil cover to see whether the internal is silver or golden color (if black then prepare for repairing), full throttle it during idling to see any black smoke out from exhaust.

where do u stay? wat year u r looking for? auto or manual?

there is alot of auction house is KL or Selangor area, i'm not sure KSL, Too warehouse, Autoauction, Gmart, Praise Million, Oriental Business and APAC still available or not. Spent sometime to walk around and i bet u will ge something that is cheaper and rasonable. alot of used car getting from auction house then sell it to us.

To me, if the car is no problem why the owner wanna sell it? must as well i get those from auction house, at least i know they are not affordable to pay for loan, but have to inspect properly and carefully. Perform a JPJ check will be recomended.

not so true. mine '05 model tak ada immobiliser... even enhanced one oso tidak ada. i think start from Waja 20th anniversary edition ada immobiliser
