This is officially my 1st model shooting session.
Location is 1Utama's Central Park.

Taken close to 3 weeks ago and only had time to process and upload them yesterday.

Comments / Critiques are really appreciated. (How else to become better?)

Focus was on the Diamond Earrings. Valho Suggested I do a snoot to make the Diamond Glitter/Shine.

1.5GB of pictures, after filtered out, ended up with ~28. (300MB) 30% Success Rate.
Is this considered normal?

Wah.. So fast got 11 views already. (And that was _when_ I was still editing the post)

#4 was actually a crop. The original pic, I had taken from a wrong angle and composition was wrong. Had to crop out the ground. (she was lying on a white sheet)

Bokeh is strong but the colors were too strong n warm. Compo is fine for most of the pics although can be better. Not a bad effort overall

I'm not familiar with model shooting but I found the busy BG distracting.

I think so, use as fill in flash.

Which colours you talking about? I initially felt the colours were like "washed out" in my LCD monitor. So, I tweaked the saturation more and more (and more!)
How can be better? Don't lah just stop there and no more input. Potong Steam lah. flex.gif

#5 and #12, the green to much, I agree. Let's see if I can tweak it down a bit.

Er.. busy BG? in which one is considered busy? There were lots of trees around, nothing much I could do about that. I've already avoided people who were in the park at that time.

I like the gal wub.gif

Generally good pictures there.. thumbup.gif

But I found you have similar problems like mine... limited composition, which mean too tight la.

Since you have 135L, the natural solution is getting a 50L. Yeah... You do need the lense to have better composition... Just like I need the 35L icon_rolleyes.gif laugh.gif

That was before i got the 135mm lah.. (I got it like a week after that shoot)

yeah, my composition does not include full body ones. It's not simple to take, IMHO, not everyone pro like ShinChan. (psst... did you hear? Myjunk downloaded all of his V3 work into his iPhone for inspiration!)

I'm not pro to the 50L lah. At most if get also get the 50 1.4 instead. The L not worth the money unlike the 135mm which is truly great!!

the 35mmL now ~3K in price only lah!! Go..Go..Go.. Get!!!

Added on May 19, 2008, 1:14 pmBTW, after the triumph fashion, I now shoot in JPEG+RAW already. Makes for easy WB and overexposure saving.

dude, why not try 85mm. its quite nice to take 3/4 body and full body if you have enough DOF. 85mm primes can easily throw the background out of focus and thus you wont have those distractign background smile.gif since you are doin outdoor photography 85mm would be a splendid idea. i would use 30 or 50mm when indoors or in tight situations. if i have a very big and wide area, i take out my 300mm and do a full body portrait.

BTW, which one is better ah? the Window Frame in the left seems like a distraction.

#7, yeah, background is indeed quite a lot. I was hoping more of like an "look far..far.. away" effect?
