Maybe Man Utd will make him a offer if nobody wants him due to his huge salary. rclxms.gif

Boro complete Emnes capture
QUOTE
Middlesbrough have completed the signing of forward Marvin Emnes from Eredivisie side Sparta Rotterdam.

The 20-year-old has joined for a fee of €4million (£3.2million) and agreed a four-year contract at The Riverside after passing a medical.

Emnes reportedly attracted interest from a number of European clubs after he scored eight goals in 26 games last term and was named as Sparta fans' player of the year.

Boro, however, have won the race to secure his signature, and manager Gareth Southgate has expressed his delight at the capture.

"We feel we have signed an exciting young player in Marvin," Southgate told the club's official website.

Enthusiastic

"Last season was his breakthrough year at Sparta Rotterdam and he ended the campaign with a flurry, scoring eight goals in his final 10 games.

"He can play anywhere across the front line, so he has versatility to go with pace, energy and technical skills.

"Marvin is very enthusiastic about coming to England and the challenge of Premier League football.

"He also fits the profile of the sort of players we want at Middlesbrough, in that he is a young player with hunger, energy and pace."

Spartak to snub English offer
QUOTE
An unnamed English club have failed in a bid to land Russia striker Roman Pavlyuchenko.

The Spartak Moscow ace is a summer target for a host of clubs after a number of eye-catching displays for his country at Euro 2008.

His two-goal salvo against England in qualifying also remains fresh in the memory of many and it has come as no surprise that Europe's top clubs are beginning to home in on the talented 26-year-old.

His current employers are bracing themselves for a battle to retain the services of their prized asset, and have made it clear that the forward will not be allowed to leave unless their valuation is met.

It is thought that the approach from the Premier League side was around the £10million mark, an offer which falls short of Spartak's demands.

Offers

The Russian outfit also confirmed that the interested party are not in the UEFA Champions League next season, a competition which Pavlyuchenko is keen to remain part of.

"We have received two offers. One of them is from an English team," said Spartak's general director Sergei Shavlo.

"Since it's not a team playing in the European Champions League we are more likely than not to reject their offer."

Reds seal Dossena swoop
QUOTE
Liverpool have completed the signing of Udinese defender Andrea Dossena on a four-year deal.

The Italian full-back becomes Reds manager Rafa Benitez's second signing of the summer following the arrival of Swiss international Philipp Degen on Thursday.

The left-back will compete with Fabio Aurelio for a place in Liverpool's first XI and is viewed as a replacement for John Arne Riise, who recently moved to Roma.

Reports suggest that the 26-year-old has cost Liverpool a fee in the region of £7million.

Dossena, who has one international cap, played 63 games for Udinese and scored two goals.

Nasri to sign in '10 days'
QUOTE
Marseille midfielder Samir Nasri should complete his transfer to Arsenal in around '10 days', according to the player's agent.

The playmaker has been strongly linked with a move to Emirates Stadium, with manager Arsene Wenger a keen admirer of Nasri's quality.

A deal had reportedly been struck towards the end of June after the player's official website announced the France international had secured his transfer to North London.

However, the statement proved to be premature, and was subsequently removed, sparking confusion over the progress of the switch.

Since then, Marseille have wrapped up the signing of Hatem Ben Arfa from Lyon - a move which has reportedly paved the way for Nasri's transfer to go ahead.

And the 21-year-old's agent, Jean-Pierre Bernes, has explained that he expects Nasri to seal his move to Arsenal when he returns from his holidays.

"He is on his holidays. It (the transfer) will be made when he will be back, in about 10 days," said Bernes.

Kewell To Galatasaray

Galatasaray new boy Harry Kewell says he can hardly wait to kick off his Turkish adventure. The Australian international is in Istanbul, where he agreed a two year deal with Galatasaray.

The Turkish giants announced yesterday that they had succeeded in luring the Aussie star to Istanbul, and although there was some confusion after his agent quickly stressed that the deal had not yet been completed, it is now confirmed that Kewell will be starring at the Ali Sami Yen stadium next season.

"I'm excited, I'm thrilled to bits. I'm looking forward to the new challenge," he told the club's official website.

Hull seal Geovanni deal
QUOTE
Hull City have wrapped up the signing of Brazilian midfielder Geovanni on a free transfer.

Geovanni had been available after being released by Manchester City earlier this week following just one season with the club.

Premier League new boys Hull were quick to express an interest in the 28-year-old and have now clinched the deal.

The former Benfica player has signed a two-year contract at the KC Stadium and has joined his new team-mates at a pre-season training camp in Italy.

Excellent signing

Assistant manager Brian Horton told BBC Radio Humberside: "He's got a very good track record, so I think he'll be an excellent signing for us.

"We've heard a lot about him and spoken to quite a few people, but we saw him ourselves so we know the player."

He becomes Hull's second signing of the summer following the £750,000 capture of Craig Fagan from Derby County earlier this week.

Tigers boss Phil Brown is looking to add to his squad ahead of a first campaign in the top flight and is also keen on Stelios Giannakopoulos and Bernard Mendy.

Talks are also ongoing to sign Middlesbrough midfielder George Boateng, who is open to leaving the Riverside this summer.
